Update for the MP patch is now available, fixed character assignment past 4 players and saves will no longer default to 4 slots. This is a client side fix so your players (5+) will also have to install it if they want to manage their own characters. The slot workaround to continue existing saves is no longer needed because saves will no longer default to 4 slots.
Common fixes and workarounds are: - Deleting your .exe files and letting steam verify the game (reapply the MP patch if needed) - Deleting everything but your saves in C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3
We also have Discord Server if you need more help or just want a place to hangout. Given the amount of mods I've created so far I figured it would be nice to have everything in one place.
If the multiplayer game was created earlier and has been played for some time with 4 people, then in order for an additional fifth player to enter the game for his own customizable character, do you need to create a new lobby with 5 people in it and upload a save ? Because with an incomplete lobby of less than 4 people, a new player is allowed to take only a character that is not currently controlled by anyone.
Would someone kindly help? I've been hosting a weekly campaign with this mod (7 players). We just finished session 8 but part way through, player 5 crashed. When p5 rejoined the game, the game automatically swapped control of p5 with another players character. Now both players are stuck controlling the others. I tried reassigning the characters in the multiplayer menu but since the affected players are not among the first 4 it won't let me assign characters to them, only take from them. We tried shuffling characters and rejoining but it always pulls that wrong character no matter who we reassign it to. It would suck to have a 2 month long campaign session ruined over one players crash. Any help or suggestions? Assistance would be very much appreciated!
I encountered that bug because I rarely pay attention to mod descriptions when I download a lot. They turned invisible and nothing seemed to help. Someone here wrote that You should try using the boat back and forth but that didn't do anything.
Easy fix for the invisible companions: Go back to camp. You know where said companions' tents are. Use Cloud of Daggers where they stand or kill them with other big AoEs if you threw them out of your party and can't see them. Keep casting Cloud of Daggers on their body until the die. Then resurrect them with Wither and they're visible again. The game loads them in and never refreshes them until they die and get "reloaded"
This mod is great but when the fifth or higher player joins & they do not get assigned the correct character there is no left arrow in the 4 thru 7 slots to correct the assignments.
The only solution is have them log out and retry hoping they get the right character assigned. Can the left arrow be put in, or is there some reliable workaround?
The mod stopped working after Karlach left the group to think about her life in Act 3 (after defeating Gortash). Now, neither me nor my MP partner can pick up new characters past the 4 player limit which we are already at 9 characters. Trying to swap Karlach for another party member removes the party member you choose to swap. Seems like the Mod has completely stopped working for some reason. Any one have any ideas how to fix this?
How long a game has been released is irrelevant. It doesn't make it okay to spoil. Getting spoiled is terrible for anyone.
Sorry, I can't agree on navigating a spoiler-free discussion tread about a mod, for a game released in 2023. Especially if the information provided is key, to understand the problem.
Sorry but I NEED HELP! How else am I supposed to explain what happened?? This is the MOD Forum to discuss issues, seek advice and solutions for dealing with this specific mod, is it not?
I know it says standalone, buuuutttt in the description it says thee only the host needs to have it. Have you tried that, or is it a hard requirement for everyone to have it?
Yeah, standalone means only the host need to install it. But for my party, we ALL have to install it, even the Patcher also (it's suppose to be standalone too lol). Hope that helps
Is there a way to set what you want the maximum party capacity to be? In previous versions osi SetMaxPartySizeOverride(x) Osi.PROC_CheckPartyFull()would work but on the latest version it does not appear to.
Anyone else have any issue at Wyrm's lookout where they can't trim the party down, the ambush cutscene doesn't trigger, and I'm stuck at camp. Can't leave, can't long rest.
