UPDATE: The greathelm has been added.
This mod overhauls the Blackguard gear set to be an endgame armor set comparable to the likes of the Armor of Persistence and Helldusk set. It is primarily geared towards Paladins, and tries to synergize with both itself and the class's features, but should be still be plenty usable for other martials.
When this set first dropped for me, I was thrilled to see that the players got access to such a stylish armor set- and from Death Knights, no less!
...Then I saw its stats, and proceeded to dump everything into my camp stash and continued on with my first playthrough.
This felt like an injustice to me for a couple of reasons. A bunch of Act 3 gear is blatantly the best in the game (it's even called ENDGAME_ARMOR in the files) in a very straightforward way, and it's just as easy to get as anything else in the act. So why do we have filler gear, especially filler gear that looks so sick?
So I buffed it. I tried to keep it in the same power level as the other endgame armor, with a focus on building on the few mechanics the gear already had. I wanted it to contribute to a playstyle in an interesting way. I also used this as an opportunity to reintroduce effects associated with paladin gear from earlier acts (Boots of Striding, Gloves of Heroism), so they could be relevant even by Act 3 power standards. I think it's in a pretty good place, but I'm open to feedback.
I encourage using Blackguard's Plate Texture Fix and Cy's Armor Fixes, as well as DavidJRose's Armor Fixes, as they all fix visual bugs that the Blackguard's Plate suffers from.
Special thanks to my Discord buddies for helping with the brainstorming process for what to do with this gear!
Also special thanks to Larian Studios for delivering a spectacular game that gave me the drive to try to make it even better.
