Hello. Please teach me your ways. How do you make a scroll become infinite? I am trying to do it on scroll of greater invisibility and counterspell but they always say "single use". Pretty please :). I already know how to unpack the object file. I just don't know which part to edit.
Quick question so my game keeps saying that the mod "Infinite Scrolls Secret Scrolls" is not in my mod list and that my save may be unstable if I continue. I do however have the newer file that's been renamed to "Infinite Scrolls_darkcharl", is my run technically safe or is it unstable as the game tells me? (apologies if there's an obvious answer, it's late and my braincell's clocked out for the night T_T)
Should be fine :) I changed the name of the mod but the UUID and the actual mod is the same, just updated with the the latest secret scrolls available.
Hi Belinn, I poked DiZ91891 and they said they would be fine with an extension to the 5escrolls mod, they just want you to message them, instead of me 3rd personing it. ;)
I'd love to, but the 5E scrolls require permission from the 5E author, and, as I recall, that mod has very strict permissions. I was able to make this for Secret Scrolls since darkcharl was kind and generous enough to have open permissions for it.
Thanks for the reply. That's a bummer. I decided to use Learn Spells from scrolls for all and am able to just learn them. Plus with no spell prep and adding spell slots to everyone, made it so any character can learn any spell. Really cool.
Thanks for this and several other of your "infinite <whatever>" mods. Since I'm not sure how to make a proper request on here, is there a way you could create an infinite lockpicks and trap disarms? Thanks!
Belinn, still loving your mod and thanks for adding support for Secret Scrolls!
I'm looking at the RootTemplates folder in InfiniteScrolls.pak and there are two files, the main differences being the UUID for the ClassId attribute. I think those differences are related to this issue (https://github.com/Norbyte/lslib/releases/tag/v1.18.6) but I can't tell which one is supposed to be the right one. Do you know, or does it matter?
I'm asking because I'm planning to make my own (non-published) mod to change the scroll icons to use the ones for the spells and I was hoping to remove "merged.lsx" since it's basically the same, minus the lslib_meta property.
The file that should have the stuff you're looking for should be the .lsx file. I made this mod back when I was still converting them to .lsf before packing, but nowadays it can just be one file with the lsf.lsx extension.
Ok so I don't need the .lsf.lsx file? And no worries at all! Mods are still pretty much the wild wild west compared to having actual mod editors like Bethesda games (although their tools still aren't out yet for Starfield so I am very happy Larian used mostly text and XML files).
Edit: OK I actually discovered something else. First, the correct version of the ClassId from Shared.pak is "a865965f-501b-46e9-9eaa-7748e8c04d09". For InfiniteScrolls, I kept the .lsf.lsx file which had it, and removed the .lsx file which had the old flipped value "a865965f-501b-46e9-aa9e-4877c0e8094d".
It looks like you used that flipped value in the InfiniteScrollsSecretScrolls mod. The root template file _merged.lsf.lsx uses the flipped value (aa9e). I checked the base SecretScrolls mod (which was updated yesterday with a new scroll fyi) and it is using the 9eaa value.
Again, I'm just noting this to make sure you or others aren't experiencing any problems when using both mods. Thank you again so much for supporting SecretScrolls! I am actually now having my Wizard and Warlock only learn spells which can be upcast, and use the non-consumable scrolls for the rest. I'd also say that the main benefit is not having to be bothered by the hoarder syndrome, I can just use scrolls whenever I remember that I have them lol, and not feel like crap for "wasting" them.
Edit 2: Lol maybe next time I'll test out my big brained ideas before commenting! None of my SecretScrolls work after flipping that UUID to the 9eaa version.
Oh, hm. That's interesting. Maybe I need to look into scrolls in the current versions of the game and compare, and would definitely need to check out that Secret Scrolls update. Are all the scrolls from this mod not working, or just the Secret Scrolls ones?
Thank you for the thorough comment :) I haven't found time to play these days, much less actually sit down to work on mods, so it's been very helpful. I also completely understand that feeling of wasting scrolls but also not wanting to use them because, "What if I need them later?" and then the game is over, haha.
Definitely disregard my comment about the UUID's in ISSS being flipped and not working. I had to switch them all back to their/your original value (the aa9e). The reason I thought it was wrong because the versions in the base SecretScrolls mod is the 9eaa one. So lol I don't know what the hell is going on there. Actually maybe the fact that you have two copies of the root template file, one with each type of UUID, is making that work. So disregard everything I said, sorry for wasting your time. But you will probably have to do an update to ISSS for the new scroll, Banishing Smite.

Thank you for doing this!
I'm glad it worked out.
Is it possible to do the same for 5e Spell Scrolls also by the same Secret Scroll author??
For lockpicks and trap disarm kits, check you Faane's Skeleton Key and Disarming Charm mods.

I hope that answered your question :)

Thank you again for all the info :)
I'm considering doing darkcharl's Secret Scrolls, though.
Edit: holding off the update because of the patch.
Edit: Thank you so much!!!
