Hey all, it seems that this has finally been fixed with Patch 3, according to some folks who have already updated the game!
In this case, look below for instructions to uninstall.
***

The vanilla Half-Elf Head 2 (both Body Type 2 and 4) has a bug which makes the skin on the head a different shade than the rest of the body (darker for lighter skins, lighter for darker skins).
Looks normal in Character Creation, looks bad in game.

Hopefully Larian is able to address this properly. Until then, this mod should fix it for you other Half-Elf Head 2 fans out there.

Current compatibility issue with Kartoffels' Custom Tattoos and Makeup! I just discovered that having that mod installed with this one unfortunately makes the Half-elf Head 2 jet black, probably due to both our mods overriding the default head materials. For the time being they cannot be used together, but I'm looking into it!

⫸ Manual Installation Only:

  •  Unzip the downloaded file, open it.
  •  Drag and drop the Data folder into your game's base directory
    (e.g. the default with Steam is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3 )
  •  Everything should automatically go into place. Done!

You don't need to create any folders, the following is just if you want to double check your paths if they are correct:

Baldurs Gate 3
|__  Data
|__  Public
|__  Shared   /   SharedDev
|__  Content
|__ Assets
|__Characters
|__HalfElves
|__Heads
|__ [PAK]_HEL_M_Head_B   /   [PAK]_HEL_MS_Head_B_Remap
|__ _merged.lsf and _merged.lsx

TO UNINSTALL:

IN CASE LARIAN DOES FIX THIS: To remove this mod you just follow the folder paths above and delete the four _merged files (two each for strong and standard heads, which are in different directories starting from Shared (standard) / SharedDev (strong).

Thanks Tair for giving the "bug report" :D
