Well worry no more, because with this mod you'll get rid of this inconvenience!

DESCRIPTION
Mod replaces rotten food in containers with gold or water bottles.
Also replaces bones (not skulls).
Imcompatible with mods changing loot tables, such as "Better Loot".

INSTALLATION
Unpack & copy content to game directory.
In order for the mod to work properly, you either need to start a new game, or
come to an area you haven't visited yet.
