About this mod

Makes healing potions suck a bit, but in a really cool way! Healers should be relevant, a Cleric or something; not a guy with a bunch of drink bottles and a good throwing arm.

Changelogs
I don't care if it's magic, you have to digest them now.

The healing potion meta in BG3 is wack, this mod makes it less wack in a (hopefully) interesting way that is at home with Larian's design; their homebrewed bonus action consumables.

The what
  • Healing potions maintain there usual functionality outside of combat, no arbitrary waiting.
  • The healing from vanilla is split in half, you get half initially and half at the end of your next turn.
  • You can only benefit from the effects of a healing potion once per turn.
  • Throwing a potion does not provide healing over time, just the initial heal, which is half of what it was in vanilla.
  • Benefiting from the effects of a healing potion, whether thrown of consumed will reset or overwrite the existing cooldown of the healing over time trigger.
  • NPCs are forced to wait for the healing over time to trigger, they shouldn't waste potions or bonus actions.
  • Prices of potions are increased (base values in the screenshots).
Load order and stuff:
  • Load after (below) basically anything editing healing potions. This mod overwrites the templates for both the potion item itself, as well as the corresponding surfaces, in addition to related stat entries.
Big thanks for Cahooots for making the foundation from my idea, it made my lazy ass finish it all up. Check out his excellent mods!
