✨ Abstract
I wrote this description to be modular and context-specific. Each section is meant to be self-contained, so you can jump directly to the part you're interested in and find all the relevant information without needing to read the rest.
This means some information is repeated more than once, but I think it makes the description easier to understand and use - especially when you're looking for something specific.
🛠️ TL;DR Installation (Quick Setup)
- Download and install the Main File via Vortex or Manually (or from the 'Main files' section in the FILES tab).
(Optional) Install add-ons like the Immersion Patch (Vortex, Manually) or compatibility files (the 'Update files' section). - Launch the game, open the in-game Mod Manager, go to the Installed tab, and ensure Simple Nymph is selected.
DELETE ImpUI (Unsubscribe) if it popped up from some reason. - DONE! Start a new game and pick Nymph as your origin in character creation.
🧬 Features
Different Rulesets
The ruleset used is dependent on difficulty level by default. You can use MCM to redefine it as you see fit, use the Immersion Patch to lock the Immersion ruleset to all difficulty levels, or set whatever ruleset you want by starting a Custom difficulty game.
- Immersion - Nymph are (somewhat) balanced.
- Usually add +1 to abilities / +2 to skills. Used in Hard and Honor modes. - Normal - Nymph are OP, with no significant weaknesses.
- Usually add +2 to abilities / +3 to skills. Used in Medium mode. - Old School - Nymph are very OP, but with weaknesses too.
- Same bonuses as Normal, but other effects are amplified/added. Used in Easy mode.
ℹ️ All subsequent features change with ruleset.
- Except for Clean Power - that one has its own setting.
- This is the reason character creation descriptions don’t show exact values.
- They’re replaced with proper ones once the game starts.
Race Features
- Nymph Abilities: Stats changes to reflect being a nymph.
- Wild Empathy: Nymphs are good with animals.
- Alluring Body: Bonus AC based on CHA.
- Fey's Resistant Will: Nymphs are more resistant to mind effecting spells.
- Clean Power: Nymphs can easily stay clean.- Can be Manual, Automatic (self), Automatic (aura), or Greater (aura).- Can be scaled separately in Custom mode or MCM, otherwise, it will depend on difficulty - same as the ruleset.- This is mostly for looks, except for the most powerful version - that one will automatically clean surfaces nearby and is super OP.
- Weapon proficiencies: Javelins and Shortbows.
- Nymph: The normal type of nymph. Add sickles to weapon proficiencies and good with hiding.
- Naiad: Fresh-water nymphs. Add spears to weapon proficiencies and immune to slippery surfaces.
- Oread: Mountain nymphs. Add handaxes to weapon proficiencies and can jump further.
- Nereid: Salt-water nymphs. Add tridents to weapon proficiencies and can carry more.
You only get to pick one such power (at character creation).
Offensive powers can be negated with a save and a successful save will make the target immune for a while.
- Irresistible Pheromones: (T) Imprint people. Imprinted people cannot target you in combat.
- Blinding Beauty: (T) Self-explenatory. Effects friends and foe alike.
- Stunning Glance: (A) Stun the target.
- Nymph's Boon: (A) A long-term buff that can only be granted to one person at a time.
- Nymph Matriarch: (P) Add more CHA when in an all-female party (and not alone).
- Sight to be Hold: (T) Reduce movement speed. Effects friends and foe alike.
- Life of the Party: (T) Heal-over time. Effects friends and foe alike.
T = Taggable Aura | A = Active Use | P = Passive Ability
Get a free one at character creation and you can also swap your normal feats for additional ones as you level up.
- Graceful Movement: The Nymph does not provoke attacks of opportunity when leaving the opponent's attack range.
- Graceful Aim: Add to ranged attacks.
- Graceful Flirts: Add to Charisma.
- Unearthly Grace: Add Charisma modifier to Dexterity saves.

- Animalistic Grace: The Nymph’s connection to nature enhances her understanding of animals. (Add to Animal Handling)
- Feet of Grace: A Nymph’s movements are inherently fluid, making it easier for them to evade harm or perform acrobatic feats. (Add to Acrobatics)
- Graceful Half-Truths: Nymphs are skilled at weaving words and creating illusions to beguile and mislead others. (Add to Deception)
- Graceful Sidestep: When threatened by ranged attacks, the Nymph’s reflexes allow them to disrupt their assailants’ aim. (Interrupt to fail ranged attacks)
- Graceful Smile: The Nymph’s allure and confidence make them naturally persuasive and difficult to refuse. (Add to Persuasion)

- Instincts of the Wilds: The Nymph’s bond with nature grants heightened awareness for navigation and tracking. (Advantage on Survival)

🪶 Lore
❝Born of moonlight and spring, Nymphs are ethereal beings tied to the hidden wilds of the world. Though rare in Faerûn, some have wandered far from their glades - curious, wistful, and aching for connection. Their beauty is otherworldly, but it hides a deep bond to nature’s magic and a fierce will to protect it❞- The Verdant Veil: Whispers of the Fey
📦 Installation (Detailed)
Step 1 – Install Dependencies
- If this is your first mod, you should download a mod manager such as Vortex.
The first time you install a mod, Nexus will ask for permission to launch Vortex - just accept the popup when it appears.
- Download the Simple Nymph file through one of these direct links:OR from the Main files section in the Files tab (it's the first file).
- Install it using Vortex or your preferred mod manager. Vortex offer a one-click install.
- If you use a mod manager other than Vortex, please refer to its documentation, as the process can differ by software.OR manually drop the .pak file into:C:\Users\<Your PC Username>\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods
Make sure to replace <Your PC Username> with the folder name used in your PC.
- Immersion Patch: Tones down the Nymph’s overpowered abilities. It's the last file, in the Optional section. (or download here: Vortex, Manually)
- If you use custom head or hair mods, check the Optional Files section. Install the patches relevant to the mods you're using.
- Each compatibility patch lists which mod it supports. No load order requirements apply.
- From the main menu, click Mod Manager.
- Navigate to the Installed tab.
- Make sure Simple Nymph is checked (enabled).
- DELETE ImpUI (Unsubscribe) if it popped up from some reason. (it can happen due to game cashing meta files from older mod versions)
- Drag it to adjust the load order if needed. The main file should be placed:- after MCM (if you use it).- before Immersion Patch (if you use it).
- Customize power level using MCM settings or chose difficulty.
- Start a new game or respec your character.
- The Nymph race will appear as an Origin option in character creation.
🔄 Compatibility & Load Order
- This mod is compatible with most other race and gameplay mods. There are no known compatibility issues.
- Load order is: MCM -> Simple Nymph -> Immersion Patch.
My compatibility patches have no strict load order requirements, but for organizational clarity, it’s recommended to place them after both Simple Nymph and the mod they support. - Compatibility patches come in 3 types: Accessories, Faces (aka heads), and Hair. Some make use of the horns/tail slots for extra options.
- For some reason, Vortex think my compatibility mods conflict with one another. They are not. You can load them in whatever order.
- Some of these mods may require ImprovedUI and/or Mod Fixer. No need to worry about that.- Mod Fixer is not needed since Patch 7 (when they added mod support).
- ImpUI (aka ImprovedUI) is not needed since Patch 8 (mostly, not 100% of it was integrated into the game - but most mods don't need it anymore). - You can ask me to add compatibility for your own favorite head/hair mod by adding a new comment in Compatibility requests.
- Note that I will only add compatibility for things that conceivably fit within the concept of a nymph.
Some mods words without needing a compatibility mod
I will add them here whenever I find them:
📌 All you need for these mods is to place them first in the loading order.
🚫 What You Don't Get
- No male Nymphs, beards, or large body types. Only the standard female model.
- No custom visuals. The Nymph uses the default elf appearance, just like the brothel Nymph in Baldur’s Gate.
- No detailed descriptions at character creation. They're replaced with appropriate versions based on your chosen difficulty after the game starts.
- No built-in balance. Nymphs are intentionally overpowered. For a more balanced experience, use the Immersion Patch (last file) or adjust via MCM.
- No multiplayer active support. This mod is mainly meant as a power fantasy and thus ill-suited for multiplayer.
⚠️ Known Issues
- If you use Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) and start a custom difficulty game, the Nymph’s custom settings will be ignored in favor of the MCM's normal difficulty behavior.
- Some mod managers may incorrectly flag my compatibility mods as conflicting with other compatibility mods or with the mod they support. There are no actual conflicts.
🪶 Lore
❝They walk as dreams given form - soft laughter in moonlit groves, eyes like still water. But do not mistake grace for weakness. A Nymph’s wrath is quiet, sudden, and always poetic❞- The Green Archivist, Tales from the Feybound Roads

❓ FAQ (as suggested by GPT)
- Is this mod compatible with [Popular Mod Name]?- This mod works with Mod Configuration Menu (MCM) as well as everything on the Compatibility List (the "update" files). No other mods are officially supported.
- Will this mod break my save?- Installing the mod is safe and shouldn’t harm your save. However, uninstalling it mid-playthrough will break your save if you're using a Nymph character.
- How does Simple Nymph v2 on mod.io differ from the Nexus Mods version of Simple Nymph?- It doesn't. Simple Nymph v2 on mod.io and the Nexus main file with version number 2.x are identical. You can use either source.
- Does this work in multiplayer?- Untested and probably not. The custom difficulty system may cause desync issues between players.
- Will this conflict with other race/appearance mods?- It shouldn't.
- How do I install this with Vortex / manually?- No special steps needed. If you're new to modding, follow a beginner-friendly guide, such as IGN's mod installation guide.
- Why isn’t the nymph race showing up in character creation?- Double-check your installation and load order. It should appear as both an Origin and a Race (Origin is recommended).
- Can I use this with existing characters?- Yes, but you’ll need external tools to change your character or NPC’s race.
- Does this mod require any other mods or tools (like Script Extender)?- Not since Patch 8. ImpUI is required if you run an older version of the game. Also, if you use MCM, Script Extender is required - but MCM already requires it.
- Will [Something] be updated for future patches?- Updates will be posted in the Current Plan section if applicable.
