A while back, when BG3 modding was at its peak, I was expecting a mod to hide helmets to get released anyday. However, since it still hasn't happened, I finally decided to do it myself and while at it, at least share it with you!



So far, I've decided to only hide playable helmets, so helmets in the game files that you can't get yet (unless you add them through mods or cheat engine) won't be affected. I also decided to let circlets as they are, since they aren't actually hiding the face of your character. I may release a variant hiding circlet as well if there's a demand for it.

Since multiple helmets can share a same visual, any helmet using the following six skins will now be hidden, even from a mod (unless the mod duplicated the visual entry for the helmet, then it won't be affected.)

I believe these 6 are all the helmet visuals currently obtainable in EA, but it's not entirely impossible I missed some, if so do tell me!


Installation :

This mod should be compatible with Candor, as it was packaged thanks to BG3 Mod Helper
If you're doing this manually like myself, these are the lines to paste in your modsettings.lsx :

As for the .pak file, you can either put it in documents\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3\Mods or steam\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data.



Known Issues :

-If you switch from a helmet with a visual to a hidden helmet, the visual of the previous helmet will still display on your character until you remove your current helmet.
-I'm still unsure how this will behave with existing saves, it shouldn't break anything (it's barely 2 lines of code replaced for each helmet really), but always make a backup for your save files no matter what.
