Implementation of College of Cantors Bard by SemanticAvenger

- Changelogs
Compatibility Framework is supported natively
This subclass has progression to level 20. You don't need a mod to increase the level cap, you just won't get the level 13-20 features
This subclass has the Cleric tag for dialogue, to get a choice of deity I'd recommend a mod like All Classes Get Gods
Subclass Features:
Blessed Knowledge:
3rd-level College of Cantors feature
Your connection with your god grants you insights into the divine. When you make an Intelligence (Arcana) or Intelligence (Religion) check, you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.In addition, you learn to read, write, and speak one language of your choice from the following list: Abyssal, Celestial, Draconic, Infernal, or Primordial.
- Rolls of 9 or lower treated as 10 is rules as written
- Since languages don't exist in BG3, and given the relatively few Arcana/Religion checks in the game, I've replaced choice of language with Proficiency in Arcana & Religion
- Progression:
- Level 3: Gain Blessed Knowledge, gain Proficiency in Arcana & Religion
Celestial Secrets:
3rd-level College of Cantors feature
You gain one cantrip and one 1st-level spell of your choice from the cleric spell list. The chosen spells count as bard spells for you but don’t count against the number of bard spells you know.
- Rules as written
- Progression:
- Level 3: Learn 1 cantrip from the Cleric Spell List; Learn 1 spell from the Cleric spell list, 1st level
Channel Divinity:
3rd-level College of Cantors feature
You gain the ability to channel divine energy directly from your deity, using that energy to fuel magical effects. You have three such effects: Bardic Smite, Dazzle Undead, and Guardian Chorus.
When you use your Channel Divinity, you choose which effect to create. You can use your Channel Divinity once, and regain all uses when you finish a short or a long rest.
Some Channel Divinity effects require saving throws. When you use such an effect from this class, the DC equals your bard spell save DC.
Bardic Smite:
When a creature which you can see hits another creature with a melee weapon attack, you can use your reaction to deal additional radiant damage equal to two rolls of your Bardic Inspiration die, which are not expended. The damage is doubled if the target is an undead or a fiend.
Dazzle Undead:
As an action, you present your holy symbol and speak a prayer censuring the undead. Each undead that can see or hear you within 30 feet of you must make a Wisdom saving throw. If the creature fails its saving throw, it takes radiant damage equal to one roll of your Bardic Inspiration die, which is not expended, and is blinded until the end of your next turn.
Guardian Chorus:
As a bonus action, you ward a creature which you can see within 30 feet against attack. For 1 minute, any creature who targets the warded creature with an attack or a harmful spellmust first make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creaturemust choose a new targetor lose the attack or spell. This spell doesn't protect the warded creature from area effects, such as the explosion of a fireball.
- Channel Divinity: Rules as written
- Bardic Smite: Rules as written
- Dazzle Undead: Rules as written
- Guardian Chorus: Since the effect of Sanctuary was changed for BG3, I've changed the ability to give an ally Sanctuary as-is
- Progression:
- Level 3: Gain 1 Channel Divinity charge; Gain Bardic Smite, Dazzle Undead, & Guardian Chorus
Inspiration From Above:
6th-level College of Cantors feature
The inspiration you grant others comes not from your own art, but from your deity and your faith in them. When a creature uses a Bardic Inspiration die you have provided them, they regain hit points equal to the number rolled + your bard level.
- Since this would be a pain to implement as written, I've changed it to do the healing when the Bardic Inspiration die is given, rather than when it is used, similar to Soothing Songs.
- Progression:
- Level 6: Gain Inspiration From Above
Apotheosis:
14th-level College of Cantors feature
Your connection with your deity has reached its absolute apex, and you gain the following benefits:
- You can use your Channel Divinity twice, and regain all uses when you finish a short or a long rest.
- When a creature uses your Inspiration From Above feature, it gains resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage until the start of its next turn.
-When your Spellcasting feature lets you learn or replace a bard cantrip or a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, you can choose the new spell from the cleric spell list or the bard spell list. You must otherwise obey all the restrictions for selecting the spell, and it becomes a bard spell for you.
- Channel Divinity: Rules as written
- Inspiration From Above: Same as above, when you give an ally a Bardic Inspiration die, they gain Blade Ward until the start of their next turn
- Spellcasting: It's not possible to dynamically change the spell list like this, so I've replaced this with more of Celestial Secrets; Learn 1 additional cantrip from the Cleric spell list, as well as one spell each of 2nd to 6th levels
- Progression:
- Level 14: Gain Apotheosis; Learn 1 cantrip from the Cleric spell list; Learn 1 spell from the Cleric spell list, 2nd level; Learn 1 spell from the Cleric spell list, 3rd level; Learn 1 spell from the Cleric spell list, 4th level; Learn 1 spell from the Cleric spell list, 5th level; Learn 1 spell from the Cleric spell list, 6th level
