Version 1.0

Seeking Spell Metamagic (available from the great, and imo, necessary mod: Metamagic Extended) is already a lesser chosen option given how rare spell attacks are outside cantrips. Advantage on leveled spells is quite handy, given the increased resource costs, however hardly anyone in 5e play takes it because the costs are too high in addition to its rare use cases.
Consider not using those 2 points. There are 2 results:
The spell still hits without advantage and you've saved yourself 2 points for other fun stuff.
The spell misses, but on your next turn (or same turn if hastened), you can convert the same number of sorcery points and just cast the spell again.
Assuming an optimized character, #1 is usually twice as likely as #2, if not more likely (it's equal to your chance to hit). Even if you spent the points to get advantage, well there is still a small chance you'll miss and now you're suddenly out a lot of resources. Seeking Spell is very situational, in a similar vein as True Strike but with even more costs, and those costs just weren't worth the gamble. Reducing to 1 sorcery point is more worth considering. WotC also realized this and proposed a similar change in recent 5e playtesting, and that's expected confirmed to remain in the 2024 PHB.
Notably, prior to 4.0+ of Metamagic Extended, seeking spell did cost 1 sorcery point, but as the mod was rebalanced and made more closely to RAW (rules as written), the author thought it best to revert to 2 sorcery points. As such, this mod is not necessary if using a version of Metamagic Extended prior to 4.0.
