I was extremely distraught when I first played Durge and uh Alfira thing happened and at first thought I'm gonna avoid bonding with her to save her. Buuut sorry Alfira, now I've come around to thinking it's a good plot point. Especially for my good Durge (his name is Xan). Before this he hadn't realizied just how bad his problem was, and after Alfira... he's gonna make sure he - the real he, not the Urge - is in control at all times and something like this never happens again.

I also like to give her a "burial" in my game. I put her in a box and leave her in the reeds on the river bank where the wind will sing her to sleep. And occasionally I bring flowers there during act 1. Too bad Larian didn't give us an option to like actually bury and honour her.
Also, I romance Astarion and at some point I multiclass Astarion into a bard... I like to think that this happens because of how impacted Durge was by Alfira's death. So he would sometimes play the lute Alfira gave him and Astarion, being a weird but sympathy ridden goblin, started to play a flute or something with him
