Baldur's Gate 3

i sometimes get asked why certain eye colours look different on my heads: (i'm looking at you elf eye colours)

my heads use the glow enabled tiefling eye material because that's what i personally want.

i'd offer an alternative version with "normal" eyes for elves etc if i didn't already have 4 variations of the main mod :(

soo, instead let me quickly tell you can how can change this yourself:

1. unpack my mod

drag the .pak mod file inside the zip onto the blue field in the modder's multitool and then open Unpacked Mods under shortcuts.

2. opening all relevant files

navigate to HW_HeadEdits -> Public -> HW_HeadEdits -> Content -> Assets -> Characters. choose the head you want to change (or repeat for all of them) and navigate further down the folder until you get an .lsx file (for example HW_F_Head_Alecto_ELF.lsf). open this file with an editor (i use notepad++).

if you want to bulk replace i would open all versions of the heads except the _TIF (tiefling) head files, because they normally use glow eyes anyway.

3. search and replace

now all you need to do is 2 simple search and replaces (Ctrl + F). first, search for "57fab18d-00a6-4dae-a14c-340f24611810" and replace that with "2c17490c-7b67-2ca8-ffd7-14e9c50db79b" for all opened files. then, search for "2c879352-b429-83c9-47df-0535e3c8d362" and replace that with "2c17490c-7b67-2ca8-ffd7-14e9c50db79b" again.

once you've done that simply save all opened files (Ctrl + Shift + S).

4. repacking the mod

now all you need to do is pack the mod again. navigate back to the very first parent folder "HW_HeadEdits" and drag that onto the blue field in the modder's multitool. it will take some time to pack the mod but when it's done you'll find a familiar zip file for the mod, simply install the .pak mod file inside it like usual.

and thats it!
