Hey!

I've integrated a large part of Unique Tav into Whispers of the Divine: Aasimar.

What does this mean?
It means, one mod less to download as a requirement and more control over what replaces what for me as an author.
Currently supported:
-Custom Body Textures
-Custom Body Models (.GR2)
-Custom Face-Tattoos

-Custom Body Tattoos Functionality deprecated due to Larian Patch 5
-Custom Make-up Functionality removed to account for face crackles

How to install my custom textures?

First, download the DATA files under the update section of the WotD: Aasimar download page. Extract this folder in your BG3 install folder, namely:

"SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Baldurs Gate 3/Data/'

Then, navigate to your /unique_tav/ Data folder here (Create them if you don't have them):

unique_tav/BODY/AASIMAR/ holds your body textures, either under FEMALE for Bodytypes 1 and 3, and MALE for bodytypes 2 and 4.
unique_tav/HEAD/AASIMAR/ holds your head textures, either under FEMALE for Bodytypes 1 and 3, and MALE for bodytypes 2 and 4.

unique_tav/FACE holds both the face tattoo texture files.

File names are as follows:
Body textures and models:

Face Tattoo and Makeup Textures:

Specific instructions:

How do I remove the crackles on the body?

Install the Generated folder of the DATA Download into your BG3 Data folder.
It should look like this:

"SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Baldurs Gate 3/Data/Generated/Public/Shared/Assets/unique_tav/BODY/AASIMAR"
"SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Baldurs Gate 3/Data/Generated/Public/Shared/Assets/unique_tav/HEAD/AASIMAR"

Once you've placed these files,, you'll have no more crackles on the body.

Enjoy!

Unique Tav is created by the wonderful Kartoffels and included with permission in WotD: Aasimar.

maybe im stupid and overlooked a comment that said this already but since u said you integrated a huge part of unique tav to your mod, does that mean we must delete our other unique tav generated folder in data or do we like... somehow fuse the both? as in take the two last files you put in your generated files and add it to the unique tav's folder under body?

I'm quite new to adding mods to games and im uh a bit lost :")

I remember doing this a while back and have updated my mod a bunch of times, and I want my crackles back. Updating the mod has not returned them, so is there a way to bring them back? Would I need to completely reinstall the mod after deleting it, or simply delete the aasimar folder and then reinstall?

Either way, thanks for the guide and the mod.

is there really no way to get tattoos again? or could i in theory modify the custom tav body to have the tattoo textures (as scars maybe if colors are an issue?)

If you know how to use Photoshop, it's actually possible. You can change the green channel of this file.(X:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data\Generated\Public\Shared\Assets\unique_tav\BODY\AASIMAR\FEMALE\UNIQUE_FS_NKD_BODY_A_HMVY.DDS)
Draw patterns in black. Then you can get a set of black tattoos.
Sorry, my English is very poor. I hope my answer can help you.

Oh, that is my character file. If you're playing a male character, you should choose to modify this file.(X:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Baldurs Gate 3\Data\Generated\Public\Shared\Assets\unique_tav\BODY\AASIMAR\MALE\UNIQUE_M_NKD_BODY_A_HMVY.DDS)
      UNIQUE_M_NKD_BODY_A_HMVY.DDS=body type 2
      UNIQUE_MS_NKD_BODY_A_HMVY.DDS=body type 4

    Hey,

    Hi Trips,

do you plan to implement genital support eventually? it's especially useful to fix seams on genitals especially when replacing body textures for body type 4. Thank you again!!

I don't think I personally will. I feel very uncomfortable working on genitals.

as genitals are .gr2 files, just put it the same place with your body gr2 file would work (of course, rename the HUM_... to UNIQUE_...). I tried with BCB and BCB fix, and works.
BTW, what is your seams fix? if it is not BCB, please tell me! I do not like the parameters of BCB but sadly it is the only one with seam fix that I could find :(

oh i am actually not replacing any genitalia! it's just that when replacing the body texture of BT4, it creates a seam around the genitals, i believe this is because it defaults to the genitals of BT2 hence the seam. There's a mod author here named KittHaven who took their time to fix the genital seams for BT4 for unique tav and was looking to apply it to apply them here. Thank you though, if you'd like my PMs are open

Thank you so much for the work you have put in on this it fits really well into the game and feels like it could have always been there its awesome. Is it possible to change the color of your glow, IE Scourge Aasimar with Red or Green instead of yellow etc? I saw all the stuff about removing crackles and though maybe i could figure out how to swap them but it stumpped me. It would be incredible to be able to change colors. Regardless THANKS AGAIN and happy holidays!

In theory, you unpack the mod, convert Trips_Aasimar_CharacterVisuals.lsf to .lsx, modify the GlowColor value for the type/gender of Aasimar, convert back to .lsf and drop into the same path of your BG3 install. But I haven't gotten that to work so far for Trips_Aasimar_Female_Player_Protector, so I'm interested in what other people have discovered or whether Trips has any pointers (thanks in advance!).

Ok, took me a bit to figure it out. For anyone struggling to do this, I believe these steps are obsolete. I managed to do this by another method.

    • Unpack the mod with the Multitool (https://github.com/ShinyHobo/BG3-Modders-Multitool)
    • Once unpacked, navigate your way to multitool\UnpackedMods\WotD-Aasimar\Generated\Public\Trips_Aasimar\[PAK]_Aasimar_Race
    • Delete the "Body" folder
    • (Optional) to have a completely vanilla body (no rib showing or wrinkle under the arms) do the steps above (the whole replacing with unique tav) but INSIDE the unpacked mod folder (i.e multitool\UnpackedMods\WotD-Aasimar\Generated\Public\Shared\Assets\unique_tav)
    • Pack the mod again with multitool and install the new .pak file

For real? I followed this explanation to a T and the Aasimar is still crackly, just no gold within the cracks.
By now I would appreciate a different version of this mod where you have no cracks as a side-option. Not everyone is a tech wiz when using mods regardless of how trivial it may seem for the mod creator or other user that aim to be helpful.
If there is demand, supply should follow.

My friend I meant no offence. Nor am I entitled. I've said that I'd appreciate an altered version given that there is currently no consistent way to remove the crackles from the models. The supply and demand comment was not per se a comment about you catering to demand, but rather that if you acknowledge that it exists then perhaps you could pivot time and resources to "appease the fans" so to speak.

I apologize for any ill feeling I may have caused you. I love this mod and would not uninstall it for a petty squabble as such. I'm hopeful that you keep up the good work.

Tyyy for making this post you are the best!!! Is there any way you could go in depth a little more on the optional step 4? And after doing step 4 are the body crackles no longer attached to the makeup sliders, or is there another way to change that? TL;DR is there any way to use the makeup options without having the crackles show up? Thank you so much again for making your comment, I was losing my mind over figuring out how to fix things LMAO

goodbyeboye, check my reply on the comment from SonWuu, the file inside the \Generated\Public\Shared\Assets\unique_tav\FACE folder called Skin_Atlas_Body_SHR_Makeup_Aasimar_MSK should be the file that connects the cracks with the makeup slider. if you remove that file you can have no cracks and eye make up, this is for the body cracks only, you still need a facemod like faces of fearun or Vemperens face mod. you also have to do all the other steps as explained by SomeInternetGuitar98. step 4 is quite easy, first you need to download the Unique Tav data file from the Unique Tave Custom Appearance mod. you then copy and paste all the files inside the NORMIES folder from the Tav mod into the unpacked mod folder as explained in step 4. once you have replaced these files you can repack it into a .pack file with the tool.

      For the record.

I do not support repacking my mod in any way, shape or form. You're doing this at your own risk and future updates will very likely break whatever you're doing now.

I see! Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the help :) I'll probably just leave things the way they are now because truly there is nothing scarier than the thought of accidentally nuking my game. It's really interesting to learn the way these things work though!
And Trip, thank you for working so hard on the mod! You're doing an excellent job!!

hi, could you write in more detail what you have done to replace the tattoo textures, as well as attach a file that will contain the same tattoo textures that the old ones will be replaced with
