The mod changes the weapon/wand icons (BAMs) in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition to look more like the ones in the original game (close-ups on hilts, blades etc. instead of entire weapons).

The aim of this mod is to restore the original look of weapons icons (BAMs) in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition. In the original game standard weapon icons were close-ups of distinguishing features (such as hilts in case of swords), the whole weapon was only visible when picked up. In the Beamdog edition only the latter variant is used, the game files however do contain the former as well. What I did was modify the BAM files to include both frames, using Near Infinity. The result is not quite the same as in the original game though, as the "picked-up" variants are still scaled down.
The modified files include all swords, axes, polearms, blunt weapons and wands from the original Baldur's Gate except for all those that I missed (please let me know if you find any omissions). I haven't (yet) changed any of the weapons added by Beamdog that had unique icons (mostly in Siege of Dragonspear expansion), because they only come in one variant (and so modding those would require some actual effort).
Installation
Create an override folder in the game's main folder (the one where the Baldur.exe file is located in), then unpack all files into it.

The method I used was developed by Balquo from Beamdog forum (link to the thread page: https://forums.beamdog.com/discussion/41397/do-the-new-item-icons-suck-in-baldurs-gate).
