    so i believe this mod was done before the graphical updates of even the ship textures. having come from vanilla as it is now, it's quite hard sometimes to stay on the mod :,q but i like the mod too much to switch back to vanilla, mostly it's all the extra shiptypes/variants and not to mention the railgun :) though i have not tested that lovely out yet.

    Long story short, this mod in on the brink of really needing an update and IMO it already really needs an update even if it is just purely for the graphical side of things.

    it would seem that even though the mod does not replace files that i could see doing such a thing, it makes vanilla ships look like muddy blobby-surfaced horrid things (also have slightly different layout of current vanilla ships) and the modded ships, albeit they look fine/ok imo. they are still not nearly up to the visual standards of the current vanilla build. so, if the author of this mod, dear seras. would be willing and able to update thing mod at least one last time, i and i'm sure others would be very happy and appreciative of you for doing so :) either way i wish you the best in life and thank you for making what you have done already!

    Astrox Extended Redux (<- click this)

    In an effort to make this mod playable I made some massive changes...

    Removed Editor and Items Folders, redundant, and vanilla are better at the moment.

    Removed all base ships from Ship and Ships_npc folder, changed most ship prices to be inline with vanilla game (mining barges were 263mil, vanilla dreadnought was 17mil, had to lower by magnitudes), 64 Ships and related png remain.

    New vanilla Skills_database used, Mining Barge 261, Freighter 262, Super Freighter 263, Super Dreadnought 264 are new skills (changed skill_ids due to conflicts, updated dependencies). 4 pngs names updated, updated links in Skills_database. Fixed that annoying SHIP to PILOT issue.

    Limited Station changes to 6 stations in Void Starcross, all 6 stations have the 4 new skills in university. 64 ships available in shipyards according to Ship List.txt in Mod root (Ship List.txt is informational and does not need to be installed). All other station data will be vanilla campaign data.

    If you intend to use this mod with the latest version, make sure you change the skills of the mod.
    IS in the download version:
    SKILL;    254;    Super Dreadnought Ship Operation;    Ship; ....... etc.

    SHOULD
    SKILL;    254;    Super Dreadnought Ship Operation;    Pilot; ....... etc.

    otherwhise the game will always tell you that you dont have the necessary skills to pilot X ship even if you have the skill at or above the level necessary.

    wow very nice.

    i have question, maybe a request. in any future is there a chance to make Homeworld ships? at least Battle Cruiser? or make anything similar?

    Have the same problem whit utility ship, need lvl 3 and had lvl 5...still could not fly the ship

      It should work if you change the ship operation skills in the Extended skill_database.txt file from skill class; ship to skill class; pilot.

    Same problem here, bought SMB-4 mining cruiser, needs MB level 4, have it trained but can't board ship. Booo.

      There is no specific line you refer to "kill class; ship to skill class; pilot. " Can you please post the exact fix and where it belongs in that text file?

    I just installed the latest version. I found a bug where I attempted to buy a ship requiring Escort Ship Operations Level 3, which I have, but it says I do not have the skill. I can buy the ship anyway but still cannot pilot it. I checked the skill number (215) and that matches, and I even changed the ship file to require only level 1 and I still could not pilot it.

      Sorry for late reply.

      It was the SE-3 Druid, but actually all ships had this issue. It's come to light on the Astrox Steam forums that it's due to a change in the way Skills are now classified. The Ship Operation skills used to have the Skill Class of "SHIP" but now they are "PILOT". The 'skills_database.txt' in the current version of the game has these listed correctly, but the skills_database.txt in the Extended mod is out of date. The ship operation skills just need to have their class changed from SHIP to PILOT and it should start working. It has for me :)

      Also Momoguru has added warp drives, warp fuel and specs, and candy items for Halloween, so the items_database could be updated as well.
