About this mod

Restores the original versions of the Dead Kings Franciade and Raider outfits that were cut from the game.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
This mod attempts to restore the original versions of the Dead Kings outfits that were cut from the game, which are more in line with the concept art for the Dead Kings DLC. They replace the Guard of the Franciade and Raider Legacy Outfits. This mod does not affect the armor set versions. Of course, the Dead Kings DLC needs to be installed for the mod to work.

Details/Things to note:
  • Outfits work everywhere.
  • .data version includes extra files for your choice of beard or mask on either outfit.
  • In cutscenes where Arno takes off his hood, the mask is taken off too. Plus the beard shows up.
  • Colors work like a filter over the outfits. The closest to the original coloring is Utopia Blue. I've also included a few images to show what some of the other colors look like.
  • Fixed the white hair under the hood to be brown.
  • The pistol/holster WILL clip through the cape.
  • The belt clips through the right side of Arno's torso for the Franciade outfit. This won't be fixed.
  • The mask clips through Arno's left cheek. This also won't be fixed, sorry. I attempted to correct it using transparency, but the mask is just a small corner of the texture file.
  • There may be a texture glitch when loading into Saint Denis. The cloak will have a hole near the gun and the cloak itself will have a splotchy color. Reloading the area with the modded outfit on may fix this. I suspect that this is due to the original texture files being used instead of the modded ones.

If you downloaded the .forge version, you can make a backup of "DataPC_10_dlc.forge" (found in the dlc_10 folder) and then replace it with my modded .forge file. Make sure the name is exactly the same or the game will crash after the title screen. This version of the mod contains bearded Franciade and masked Raider as the default set for some variety.

If you are using the .data files, then you need to use kamzik123's AnvilToolKit program. You can download it here.

AnvilToolKit setup instructions:
  • Unzip the contents of the download into its own folder.
  • Run the AnvilToolKit program.
  • Select AC Unity from the grid list.
  • The program will ask you to select the game's path on your computer. Change the "Path to executable" line to the location of your ACU.exe file.
  • Reselect AC Unity from the grid.
  • Then it will ask to download the game file list, which you should confirm.
  • Finally, the contents of your AC Unity game folder should be displayed in AnvilToolKit and you're ready to install this mod.

Installation:
  • Within AnvilToolKit, navigate to your dlc_10 folder.
  • Unpack "DataPC_10_dlc.forge" by right clicking and selecting Unpack.
  • Once the forge is unpacked, the data files should appear, starting with "0_-_GlobalMetaFile.MetaFile."
  • Choose the BodyCust data file with the beard/mask version that you would like to use. Extract it, rename it to "725_-_SDN_Arno_BodyCust.data," and then drop it into the folder in AnvilToolKit.
  • Then extract and drop the rest of the files into the forge folder to replace the originals.
  • Once all the files are replaced, click on the up arrow in the upper left corner. Then right click on the "DataPC_10_dlc.forge" folder and select Repack.

Here's a tutorial by Kamzik123 (with pictures) in case you are still unsure of the process.

After everything is repacked, the mod should be installed!
Please let me know if there are any replicable glitches or crashes (besides the last point mentioned above)

Special thanks to Kamzik123 for creating AnvilToolKit! This mod couldn't have been done without it. Also thanks to ¥Logan~ over on the AnvilToolKit Discord server for help with the mask!
