I installed required C++ 2015 and java 8 441 64bit. Added path to game exe and default modded files folder. But the textures are not showing up in game. What can go wrong?
Hello there, one thing that really bugs me about this game is how extremely dark most of the greeks in this game are, looking basically like Indians. This is especially noticable if you compare it to the character portraits, all the paintings and statues in the game, the greeks in AC Origins, and of course just greeks in real life. So I'm wondering; is it also possible to mod the npcs in the game to be lighter in tone , as for example the main character here seems to be moddable?
So you're saying this is actually possible and you'd do that? This would be extremely awesome, thank you very much. Going from the picture about the different versions, I think the most accurate look for the greeks would be vanilla to version 3, with version 3 being quite uncommon. Basically named characters like Alexios, Sokrates, Perikles, Kleon, Alkibiades or Stentor all look good , to also give a few examples.
Oh no, I meant it differently, I'll try to explain ; basically characters have all different shades, I'd say V3 , V4 and V5 in the game. Then what I wondered, is if it's possible to just "scale down" the tone, so that instead of those 3 , only Vanilla, V1 , and V2 would exist in the game. I have no idea how modding this game works, so that's why I asked if it was even possible. There should only be those first 3 tones and not the much darker later 3 ones in the game anymore, the named characters I mentioned being good examples for the fitting ones. But as I understand it now, it is only possible to give all npcs a single color, right? (By "npcs" I mean townsfolk, soldiers and ship crews, basically everyone, not just quest or story characters, to also be clear on what I even mean when saying "npcs")
the texture to change the tones affects every single character model, all of them, kids, story characters, ship crew, everyone, even the player character, but using that texture, along with this mod, may make all the npcs one colour, and your player, a different one
TDLR: editing the texture to change the npcs makes everyone one shade, you cannot do 2, so choose 1 only.
Well, if you'd be willing to do that, then I think V1 would be the best. Or a middleground between 1 and 2, but only if it's not too much work ( or basically Alkibiades skin tone, now that I think about it).
And this may be a stupid question, but it still wouldn't work as I described it, if I wouldn't use the "main character mod" , right?
I do really hope this mod is coming. Even considering tanning, current skin tones of greek people in this game is just way too much. Somehow, V1 looks quite a bit unnatural so V2 would be perfect.
On the subject of a "Natural Looking" V1, after unlocking the Deimosandra skin in the discovery tour, looking at Kassandra and her Deimos version side by side, it looks like the Deimos skin is paler. Not very, but a little. I always thought Alexios-as-Deimos looked a little bloodless. I guess they were going for a "lives in a cave" look for Deimos. The Deimos skins might provide a modder a good place to start building from.

Be aware, this will affect all NPC's, even the ones you don't want it to.
Also, as it also edits the player character, but I am not sure if this mod overwrites that, they may conflict
