- If your problem is the same as mine, the right side of the screen (if you have 50/50 present type on) will be completely black
- To get DOF to work correctly, you have to make it so that your character and close objects are black and further objects are white. You can do this by messing around with the options here. I just had to set RESHADE_DEPTH_INPUT_IS_REVERSED to equal 1, tho it might be different for you.
- Once you have this figured out, you then have to click "Edit global preprocessor definitions" and edit the options there to match what you did below it.
Lol i had to disable Uplay's in-game overlay in order to make it work >< By the way, how do i make the blue shadows into black? And people, just hit the Home button, then the reshade's overlay will pop up, you can also change it in the settings once you opened it ;)
Aha! I think you may have solved the mystery for Uplay users! I'm gonna pin this comment. Hopefully this method works for other people.
Btw, I am working on another update for VividFX. It will be much better than its current state. Fixing blue shadows is one of my top priorities. I'm very close to finalizing and release.
If you wait a few days it will be ready. Thanks! ;)
When i launched the game, the intros/menu/in-game lighting are kinda blue, the shadows are no more blue, i guess this must be the way to have that awesome image, the blue lighting is a bit noticeable over everything that is made from stone, but with that i see the beauty on the sky/sea/trees, can't have that image without blue lighting, only if re-texturing was possible, many thanks for the best ac odyssey reshade, you are awesome! :D Edit: One tip about the installation step 4, after downloading all standard effects and doing the rest of the steps, in game you will notice fps drop although this preset is using only six specific effects, in oder to increase the fps without touching the needed effects is: first completely uninstall the reshade, install it from the beginning, when you reach step 4, click "Uncheck All" and then check only the effects that this preset is using, click OK so it will download only those effects and do the rest of the steps, i did this and got big difference on fps, not the same as vanilla, but better than before ;)
Your analysis of my preset is pretty spot on lol. There's only so much that I can do with reshade without the ability to re-texture. Thank you kindly for your feedback and constructive criticism. As well as providing a solution for Uplay users (hopefully it actually works for others) and notifying me about installing only the required shaders for better performance. I need to run some performance tests myself to confirm. I'll update my installation instructions accordingly regardless.
Anyways, thanks again for everything! You've been a tremendous amount of help.
For ReShade 5.9+, many of the required shaders are now obsolete or have been moved into their maintainers' repositories.
If you're lazy, just click Check All when installing shaders. ReShade will install all shaders so you can just skip this part of the installation process.
I made a list of the repositories you need to get all the required shaders: * Standard
Notes: 1. If you "tick" the boxes when choosing the repositories, ReShade will install all shaders from that repository. 2. If you make it a "square", you will be given the ability to choose to install the shaders you want individually, then select the ones I listed above.
Truly game changing. I can't see myself playing the game without this preset and I've only just started playing the game for the first time too.
This is the Cinematic preset. By default, it has a very aggressive blue tint. I had to reset the RGB Gain from the LiftGammaGain shader to make it look more natural. It may look differently on your screen but my display has been calibrated so I'm confident in what I'm seeing.
Just bought a PC and considering re-buying this game for mods lol. pretty easy to set up and install? Just modded RDR2 with reshades and wasn't bad at all. any other cool mods for odyssey you found/like?
Just click "Check All" instead of "Uncheck All" and ignore the list. The shaders are very small in size plus you get to play around with everything ReShade has to offer on your own.
If you are using the latest Reshade, you will get an option to "Select Effect packages to install". Click uncheck all > Scroll down to bottom > Select "Legacy standard effect".The effect you required would be in second Pop-up dialog (Uncheck and skip the first one. Be smart and check effect name in the first dialog as well). As usual if your game is crashing, open Assassin creed directory and rename "dxgi.dll" to "d3d11.dll"
I try to follow the instruction but I have no Step5 during ReShade setup. I go to Step4 to download standard effects and click 'Uncheck All' and that's it - no more actions or effects to select (AmbientLight.fx -Clarity.fx -DPX.fx -FilmGrain2.fx -GaussianBlur.fx -LiftGammaGain.fx -LightDoF.fx -LumaSharpen.fx). Help please ?
Then, select 'Legacy Standard Effects' package at the bottom of the list. (It should be a black square when you click it once. Make sure it's not a 'check' symbol)
Then click 'ok', you will then be prompted to another window asking you which .fx files to install. Just follow step 5 from that point onward.
5) Select the following effects which are required to run VividFX REDUX -AmbientLight.fx -Clarity.fx -DPX.fx -FilmGrain2.fx -GaussianBlur.fx -LiftGammaGain.fx -LightDoF.fx -LumaSharpen.fx
okay I got it working, try to rename the dgxi.dll to d3d11.dll , >> if it's already a file named d3d11.dll, just delete/cut it to your desktop as backup and then change the dgxi.dll to d3d11.dll
now run the game, voila~ the reshade is working like a charm.
I'm having a problem where after install when I try to start ACO it says that it's unable to verify uplay installation. I reinstalled uplay with no luck. Any ideas?
Try following the uninstallation instructions and delete the reshade files. The game should never crash like that due to reshade so I'm not sure what went wrong.
