shows what you know lad. her skin tone is what actual ancient greeks look like, check out ancient greek art and really you talk about realism in AC odyssey where a woman can take on multiple men, nude no less based on your request. Game is the furthest thing from realism
No, actually donjuanismo's original comment makes complete sense. The ancient Greeks had darker skin as noted by travelers from other lands who interacted with them. Just like the Greek people of today have notably darker skin tones. Relying on the faded artwork from 3,000 years ago is in not an effective way to guess skin tones. Take the Egyptian paintings for example, people were painted blue for their own reasons.
As for the nudity argument, public nudity was celebrated. It's how they got closer to the Gods, who were all naked in sculptures. Greek athletes performed naked, soldiers trained naked. This was also influenced by the Celts who fought naked as noted by Polybius.
Art from greece shows greeks with light skin tone. Also females have lighter skin tone due to not being under the sun as much as males. Greeks today look darker (some of them) because of foreign dna being added into them. Wars happen and nations get invaded and invaders do their thing to the native population.
What a bunch of bs. I am Greek and have never seen a woman with such a skin tone. She is way too green in game and i am seriously considering this mod.
I recommend a trip to an ophthalmologist, if you think she doesn't look younger. Also, remember, you don't need the adverb 'more' in front of a comparative adjective, if it ends on '-er'.
Actually, the characters in ACOddysey are weirdly brownish. Nowadays greek people have darker skins than italians or spaniards, for example, but that's because of the turkish occupation until XIX century, and the mix of the original population with turkish for centuries. Before Christ, most of the pupulation of Greek came from the north of Europe, like Balkans. There were a lot of blonde and redheaded greeks, as can be seen in historical art, like statues that keep some of the original tint, for example. So, KUDOS for wither and more historically accurate Kassandra. But not to make a version for FORGER is a mistake. I´m not going to use this mod because of that. Resorep is a pain in the ass.
Dlon93 She looks younger because all those wrinkles are hidden underneath all that white colour , definitely could've been done without whitening but the modder prefers a more caucasian tone . If you can't see why that could be offensive to some in the world we live in, you're being in denial.
If someone prefers some detail in a videogame their own way and have the skills to modify it to suit their needs, then they can just do it if they want as long as it doesnt impact anyone else. If you don't like his version of younger, you can just simply skip the mod, but nobody cares about your opinion of modern or old Greece and its people, so nobody needs to feel "offended" because of an optional thing in an optional site, which is in no way official
In denial? Over what exactly? Are you just trying to sound clever? Awww. Yes, I know perfectly well that some disgusting racists feel offended by this optional mod. They can cry all they want. It's irrelevant, not to mention expected of them.
Plus, Ancient Greeks were white. So, this is a lot more accurate than what we got in the vanilla game anway. Great job modder!
Huh? Because I stated the fact that the Ancient Greeks were caucasian? Hilarious. Jokers like you have made terms like 'white supremacy" completely meaningless. You can't in any way explain how my comment makes me a "white supremacists". It's pure facts. It's your own fault for getting triggered.
Unfortunately, Kassandra doesn't have a unique texture, and shares it with several other NPCs. So, when you edit her texture, you edit other NPCs textures also.
That's what I always say. The internet has allowed stupid people to anonymously write whatever moronic thing they want. Things that they would never have the guts to say in real life.
Firstly, whoever said Balkans are North Europe, it's ridiculous, it's as south as it gets, only big landmass to the south of Balkan peninsula is literally Africa.
Greeks, much like Italians or Spanish, were always Mediterranean and darker than Nordic Europeans, it should be pretty obvious people in warm climate get more sun than the Vikings or Celts, duh. BTW, Turks aren't even as dark as Arabs (whose skin tone can vary from dark brown to chalk white) either, Turkic peoples are native to Central Asia, countries like Turkmenistan and the Kazakhstan steppe. They moved to Anatolia from COLDER lands. Not from Middle East.
Also, lol @ "caucasian" epithet being synonymous with American definition of "white", Caucasus mountains are where Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan are located. In the West, the most famous Caucasians are Armenian diaspora, people like System of a Down, Cher, and the Kardashians - their ancestors are from Caucasus, literally. They're "brown." Darker than most folks in Balkans, and even Turks, yeah.
Anyway, myth that ancient Hellenes, Egyptians or Romans looked much different from modern Greeks, Egyptian "Arabs" and Italians is a modern invention made up by racists (of any kind) to claim that they're "unpure" now. Black supremacists sometimes say that in modern Egypt people "lightened" after Arabic conquest, and vice versa for white supremacists. Admitting that people who live in Egypt are just... Egyptians... with 90% DNA of their ancestors (yup, they still same people) is the most controversial thing to say because it offends both camps of foreigners trying to claim Egypt for themselves. I guess it's the same with Greece. Greeks are Greek. Deal with it.
Anyway, pale and blond Greeks exist, as do dark and olive-skinned folks, but average Mediterranean people simply do not look the same as Nordic people, and never did. It would be silly. I find it weird that people have a hard time understanding that Hellenes aren't Norwegians. xD And that Balkans isn't Scandinavia. Duh. Greeks were NEVER Germanic. But that doesn't mean that Kassandra's tan is the lightest she can be. They just designed her that way, to have tomboy tanned skin, as she is outside a lot of time, rough and tough. That's it. It's just a design choice of the skin tone of a European person from Mediterranean, and Europe has people of all skin colours. Not a big deal here really.
First of all, the guy who said the Balkans are in Northern Europe, just did not express himself properly. He probably meant to say that they came from the north part of the Balkans, which is in Europe. Greece being on the very south of the Balkans.
Next, Turks are "brown". The "chalk white" Turks, as you've put it, are not "real" Turks. All of the lighter skinned "Turks" you can find today, are the result of the Ottoman Empire's occupation of a large portion of Eastern Europe. For almost 500 years they've taken the people from the Balkans back to what is Turkey today. Hundreds of thousand, if not millions of young boys and girls (until 7 years old) were taken to be raised in the Ottoman Empire, to become soldiers or be put in harems, in a disgusting practice that the Ottomans performed, called "The Tribute in Blood". That is the reason why you can find light skinned Turks today. You can go to Turkey today, and find a white person with blue eyes and blond hair who identifies as Turkish. But are they really? No, they are not.
The Greeks and the other people from the Balkans were "whiter" than what they are today, 500+ years ago. That is a fact, and saying it doesn't make anyone a "racist". Sure, we can say that they were never as light-skinned as the Nordic nations, but definitely not as dark skinned as many of them are portrayed in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. It is know that Southern Slavs, which today are Serbians, Croatians, Bosnians, Montenegrins etc. had many very pale-skinned gingers among them, for example. Not a lot of those left these days in the Balkans. While, in Russia, for example, you can find a lot of gingers even today, because they come from the same Slav tribe, but were never under the Ottoman occupation.
The reason why so many people were made darker skinned in this game, is because Ubisoft is a "progressive" company with an agenda to push. And you'll see it for yourself in their new game, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, which is supposed to be set in Scandinavia or somewhere in Europe. I guarantee that many NPCs will be darker skinned, for "diversity" and "inclusivity" reasons.
If that is not the case, I will come here and apologize to you. But something tells me I have nothing to worry about.
@cmdrbentley @Ron3232 Go to google and type in "Greek Actresses". Some of those women are pasty white, Greek people are considered White Europeans. Some of them are darker, especially when exposed to a lot of sun. But making Kassandra whiter does not break immersion. Ask yourself a question and be honest with yourself... If you downloaded a mod for Grand Theft Auto that made the black characters look younger and slightly darker, would you even notice or care? Would you post on the mod forum about how your black character is blacker, and how that makes the creator racist? My personal answer is no, and I'm willing to bet that yours is too. So stop calling white people racists just because it's the trendy thing to do in 2020. I really like how this mod looks, kudos to the creator.
@cmdrbentley Do you even know what a white supremacy is? If you call him/her that because of his/her opinion, then you clearly don't know what a white supremacy is, but you guys on the left even call Trump a fascist, when in actual fact the LEFT are the fascists and they ALWAYS were. Trying to force their beliefs on other people and if these people don't think like them, they destroy their lives. That's fascism in its purest form.
I was just thinking the same thing, and immediately followed that thought with that it actually makes her less attractive. Part of her beauty was that beautiful skin tone. lol
I need a mod that makes the NPCs historically accurate (or changes the appearance of characters in their paintings etc to reflect the new look Ubisoft gave the NPCs).
She was already gorgeous and fairly young, it's sad that on so many games there are countless re-skins for women (almost always young, big tits, nice ass) even when actual functional mods are lacking.
I'm saying this as a straight guy myself, I just don't get caring so much - how much time are you even spending staring at your character in this way?
She was already gorgeous (which goes without saying with Melissanthi Mahut playing her). This just makes her look less Greek (which the actress is, for those claiming it somehow makes her look more Greek) or like she's using skin-whitening cream that just happens to obscure her face lines, which I think just makes her look less interesting. But to each their own.
I installed required C++ 2015 and java 8 441 64bit. Added path to game exe and default modded files folder. But the textures are not showing up in game. What can go wrong?
I can enable and boot up the game with this method, but unfortunately without the latest YoungerKassandraBodyDiffuse.dds file Kassandra couldn't get her lipstick and skin tone to match with the pictures. Can you update the code for the latest version ? Thank you !

So your mod is unnecessary.
Your time and effort would be put to better use making a nude mod of her.

The downside of the internet and smartphones too.
They've given a voice to idiots.
