It does look like your character is preparing for a big adventure - leaving the old empty lands for the more populous port city. Perhaps she doesn't know where she wants to go just yet. But, with the number of boats in the harbor, it also looks like she has a lot of choice.
It reminds me of my old Greek friend. Not a direct connection, but many times we sat and ate καλαμ?ρι and χταπ?δι (squid and octopus) at the shore. There was Roditis and Metaxa involved also. He said he remembered seeing the fishermen hang the octopus on a line to dry in his village. It's been 25 years since I last saw him, but we stay in touch. Old friends can be such a joy and comfort.
