Can confirm this still works in April 2025, I was able to convert my Ubisoft Connect to work with my Steam copy. How I did it: Open the ACSaveTool Set Game to Black Flag Tick Detect for Decryption In the encryption ID put the CD Key for your copy Click Open and select 2.save Click convert
this is unrelated to this particular save but do you know if the gold edition saves work with the standard edition? i played the gold edition on ubi plus subscription but when i bought the gold edition after it ended, they gave me the standard edition and my save says it's damaged. it's all wierd though because i have access to all the gold edition content.
2. Press "Open..." and select "ACBF_Seq3_Start\1.save" and "ACBF_Seq3_Start\2.save"
3. Allow it to auto detect game and decryption ID
4. For encryption ID press the button "..." and add a test save file from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\[random numbers]\437\"
5. Convert
6. Drag "1.save" "2.save" "1.save.upload" "2.save.upload" from "ACBF_Seq3_Start" to "437"
this might be a me problem but i cant seem to convert the saves, it may be because i use a pirated version but i highly doubt that so is there anything you could do? ACS always says "unable to detect encryption key"
Still doesn't work. I've tried everything. Loading my own save first, loading the new save first, using the encryption key, not using the encryption key, using just save 1, just save 2, both 1 and 2, nothing. No, I'm not using the pirated "version" The tool doesn't work anymore.
For step 2, to be specific, you select the save files you want to have (I used the save files "1.save" "2.save" from Getsmor's sequence 7 folder)
I went and selected Black Flag for the game decryption vs detect on step 3, it was giving me an error with detect.
In step 4 select your original save file currently on your system to be replaced from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\[random numbers]\437\" as you mentioned. Note: If you don't have a save file or haven't started the game, I advise you to start the game and play it for a bit to get those original save files.
Clarifying step 5-6, once the conversion is done you should see two new files from where you selected the downloaded Getsmor's save files. Grab those two new converted "1.save" "2.save" files (check for the most recent time/date stamp) and replace the ones in your system files under the Ubisoft folder ending in 437. Also, I suggest to backup these original "1.save" "2.save" files if you want to go back for any reason.
Got it working, save file is as advertised. Only thing is that Kenway's Fleet does not appear to be functioning. I am stuck on a loading loop, not sure if it's a bug from messing with the save files.
the decryption id keeps getting greyed out when i hit detect. do you know what's causing this, i used this tool before and it didn't do this before.
(edit) i think figured it out when i read about the game key. im on ubisoft plus subscription and i don't have a game key. guess i'll just replay it, kinda uskcs because i just wanted to use some mods and mess around.
thank you, i played this game on stadia and when i got it on ubisoft launcher, i didn't have the saves. i wish they used the cloud saves since stadia was cloud gaming lol, i know it's probably just because it's actually a platform like a console would be labeled as.

step that i was missing, at the very end, copy-paste the save files from the mod and override my save files.

I did get a "success message" with the app and a backup folder created in my local save folder, and yet nothing ingame.
I will just get a cheat to rush up to where I was before losing my save.
