Assassin's Creed II - Intro Sequence | VictoReShade 1.2.0a Comparison
(*4K VERSION STILL BEING PROCESSED*)
Let's be honest, it's 2020 and Assassin's Creed II is still the best game in the entire franchise, regardless of it's many flaws.
The colors don't look quite that captivating when playing on higher resolutions though, which is understandable when you keep in mind it was made to play on 720p.
This ReShade is my attempt at lifting the general static grey vibe hanging everywhere, and filling it with a wider array of warmer and colder colors.
Besides upping the saturation and exposure while lowering the contrast, I added some sharpening and tried to accentuate the differences between shadows and brightness. Skies and water are also blue now.
It contains 2 pre-sets (a 1080p and 4k version for each). The warm pre-set has rather blue shadows and often gives a more vibrant ambiance, while the Neutral pre-set features more grey, realistic looking shadows.
I had to manually get these 3 clips in sync, frame by frame, due to longer clips resulting in less accurate output, which somehow turned out to be an even more tedious task than I imagined.
I feel like it goes without saying, but I won't be quick to update this video because of this.
