Please read the full mod description carefully before use. The mod is currently in an early alpha state, so you are very likely to experience bugs. If you do, please report them to me in as much detail as possible and I'll work to fix them for future versions.

About

If you're enjoying this mod, and want to support me, you can buy me a coffee here.

The mod has a discord!

Online co-operative play

This mod works to add online co-op in missions. Since only PvP areas exist in the base game enemy and world synchronisation between clients has been re-implemented from the ground up to attempt to make it feel like a traditional souls multiplayer game.

Play with up to 5 friends.

All mission work other than the Ice Worm mission which has been disabled in co-op whilst it is being fixed.

Online PvP

During missions, either with your party or alone, you are vulnerable to being invaded by rogue ACs controlled by other players. These players will attempt to disrupt your gameplay and add random PvP encounters throughout the game. Their objective is to kill you and your party members. Your objective is to kill them. Players are rewarded for completing their objective.

The amount of rogue ACs that can disturb your mission is equal to the number of co-operative players you have with the limitation of 6 players in a game. If you are in a party by yourself, you will still be able to be invaded by one rogue AC. For example:

You can disable PvP in the "ac6_coop_settings" file by changing "allow_evil_guest = 1" to "allow_evil_guest = 0". This option only matters for the host of the session.

If you are playing with other game modifications online PvP is disabled.

Balancing

There is no enemy scaling in the base game. To attempt to preserve some of the game's challenge a small amount of enemy health and armour increases have been added to enemies per additional player.

Can this ban me?

No. The game doesn't launch Easy Anti-Cheat and doesn't connect to FromSoftware's matchmaking servers.

Installation

This mod has no dependancies.

Compatibility with other mods has not been tested. You may use other mods, so long as they do not interfere with the multiplayer aspect of the game.

  • Download the mod from the 'Download' tab
  • Extract the package you downloaded, and move the following files to your Armored Core VI folder (usually in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON\Game")
  • Edit "ac6_coop_settings.ini" to your liking
  • Launch the mod using "ac6_for_coop_launcher.exe"
You don't really have to uninstall the mod. You can use the launcher when you want to play it, otherwise just run the game normally. If you'd like to remove it fully, simply delete the files you downloaded from here.

Below is an example of how your file structure should look if installed correctly:

Use

To use the mod, one player will have to host the session. You can do this by going into the garage menu and selecting "START MULTIPLAYER". After this, you should invite who you want to play with to your party. You can see when they join in the "SQUAD" menu (shown below).

Once your party is complete, please begin a mission. Only the host can select the mission for the party to play.

You can use other mods if you want, but everyone will have to use the same mods for the game to work correctly. Currently only missions are supported; The arena and test AC mission won't work correctly in multiplayer.

If you would like to invade another player's mission as a rogue AC, you just need to select "BREAK IN MISSION" and the mod will attempt to
connect you to an available session.

FAQ

Q) Is progress shared?
A) Yes.

Q) Are there invasions?
A) Yes, see above.

Q) How does failing a mission work?
A) If you die during a mission and your party members are alive, then you will enter a spectate mode until your party either reaches a checkpoint, completes the mission, or wipes out. If they reach a checkpoint then you will respawn. If everyone dies then the mission will restart from the beginning

Q) Does this worked for cracked/pirated games?
A) No, I'm also not going to be supporting these versions so please don't make bug reports about it.

Q) Can I modify or redistribute this mod?
A) No, sorry. Please do not modify, repackage, or redistribute this mod anywhere without my permission.

Q) Can I use my save game from the base game?
A) Yes.

Q) Will updating the mod affect my current playthrough with it?
A) No.

Q) Can you get Steam achievements while using this mod?
A) Yes.
