Instructions
First, please read through the options below so you know what they actually do.
Each option edits the same files, so there are separate folders for every possible combination of options.
Find the one you want and install its contents with Mod Engine as usual.
Options
These are the options that you might actually want to use for normal gameplay.
All combinations of the three can be found in the main folder, sorted alphabetically.
Bloom
- Disables bloom and glow, the effects that make bright parts of the image spread into nearby pixels.
- ACVI's use of bloom is usually quite restrained and appropriate, so I wouldn't recommend this personally.
CA
- Disables chromatic aberration, the effect that spreads color channels apart the further they are from the center of the image.
- CA is always on at some level in ACVI, and disabling it leads to a noticeably sharper image near the edges.
Vignette
- Disables darkening around the edges of the image.
- The vignette in ACVI is fairly strong, so I recommend this especially for taking screenshots.
Cursed Options
These are the options that actively make the game look worse, but you might want to try for curiosity's sake.
All combinations including one or more of these can be found in the [Cursed Options] folder, sorted alphabetically.
Fog (Global)
- Disables global distance-based fog effects relative to the player.
- It's fun to be able to see all the weird junk off in the distance, but this ruins the aesthetic of most levels and just generally looks awful.
Fog (Local)
- Disables localized fog volumes.
- This isn't as catastrophic to the visuals as disabling global fog, but definitely removes a lot of personality from some areas.
Lighting
- Desaturates all global lighting to a neutral white color.
- The color tinting in ACVI is much more subtle than in prior games, so this mostly just makes some areas and times of day more boring for no good reason.
