It is early 2023 and if you downloaded this addon, you still have an interest in ArmA2/Operation Arrowhead. This is awesome!
In the face of the slow but steady decline of all prominent ArmA fanpages, i´ve found that there was nowhere left to download cal.68 Mod :-(
A few facts about this re-release of "cal.68 Paintball Mod" for ArmA2 Combined Operations:
-cal.68 Mod was originally released in 2011 - https://forums.bohemia.net/forums/topic/110840-cal68-mod/
-a small update to v1.2 was planned, but quicksanded
-this mod has´nt been worked on for over 10 years
-i recovered all the source files from old hard drives
-i tried my best not to reintroduce old bugs with this repack
Known issues in 2023:
-in vanilla ArmA2 the paintball trajectory is a little different compared to running the mod in "Combined Operations" (ArmA2 & Operation Arrowhead together - recommended)
-running cal.68 on vanilla Operation Arrowhead (w/o ArmA2) is possible, but throws errors and west paintball team does´nt exist.
-the "cal.68 Mini (Dye)" has a shadow glitch which can be seen through objects - so by using this gun you wallhack yourself. Also the whole East Paintball Team 2 is equipped with it - so best to avoid using both :-/
-Steam Version of ArmA2 & ArmA2 Operation Arrowhead are a pain to get running as "Combined Operations". A DVD install to the same directory was/is much easier to work with.
-If you´ve never dealt with getting addons/mods to run in ArmA2 games the old fashioned way, you´re in for a lot of comprehensive readme reading, and/or tons of trial & error.
-Sadly i won´t be able to help with anything regarding installation and/or mismatching CBA versions. Your Lore skill better be around 10+

CBA (Community Base Addons) is a required addon and has been included into this re-pack for ease of use.
CBA is distributed under GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE, all terms and conditions still apply.
I´ve included 2 different versions of CBA with this repack
The cal.68 Mod will not work correctly without CBA. Make sure to read included readme files.
A few command line examples (note how CBA always gets loaded first):
If using ArmA2 (CBA_Build188_Arma2.7z):

Introduction
Welcome user :)
With the download of cal.68 Mod for ArmA2 you ́re now able to turn your
favourite wargame into a family friendly sports-simulator.
This mod is primarily catered for MP use and most of it ́s functions depend on
the unit shooting you being another player in an MP environment.
If one or both conditions aren ́t met, you won ́t see special effects or functionalities.
We have included a module for SP use though, that enables all
functionality outside of MP and works with AI units. (see Page 6
„Modules“ for more information)
Please consider:
• Some functions (e.g. invulnerability) will make it impossible for you to play
non-paintball missions with cal.68 Mod on, at least not in an orderly,
non cheating manner. Invulnerability stems from using „handle damage
Eventhandlers“, a neccessary evil.
• Server operators beware, only allow cal.68 signatures when you are sure that no players will take advantage of such exploits.
Installation
REQUIREMENTS:
• ArmA2, version 1.05 (or higher)
• cal68. requires CBA, which can be downloaded at dev-heaven.net:

Hints
• Several masks can be selected from your ArmA2 player profile.
cal.68 Mod doesn ́t model eye injuries yet, but you never know when this might
change - safety first - always wear your eye protection when playing
paintball!
• Assigning the „Fire“ action to a second mousebutton enables you to walk the trigger - almost like you would do in real life.
Trained players outshoot their opponent with accuracy through volume using this technique.
Modulesmodule in place you won ́t see any hit fx and also be invulnerable to
- cal.68 SP - enables cal.68 script handling for single player use. Without this
any damage.lethality decreases drastically with higher distance to the target.
- cal.68 killME - enables lethal paintballs (for classic CTF compatibility). Be aware that you ́re still shooting paintballs,
Note: Paintball is a fair sport, friendly & enemy sides share the same respawn location.
- cal.68 Respawnzone - put this Module in the exact place where you want units to be teleported to after being hit three times*.
*(current standard value, might change in the future.)Various modules are selectable from within the mission editor, under the F7 tab.
- Trivia: Modules are an ArmA2 feature that makes it easier for mission editors to employ scripted functions.
