---------------------------------------------------------- POPULATION DENSITY ---------------------------------------------------------- (Game Update 16 ready) (Affect: Old World, New World, Arctic,Enbesa residences,Tourist Hotels and Skyscrapers)
A simple mod to adjust the population density and consumption of goods from the different tiers of residents. Improved and updated from the previous work of Callesen58.
This mod is Save-Game compatible too but keep in mind that it can F@*& up your good consumption upon installation.\ *Also compatible with Spice it Up.
To add more flexibility towards the consumption of goods and the population density, the mod is now split into two sub-modules:
The Population Density module which increases the number of residents per house by the modifier (x2.0, x4.0, ...).
The Consumption module which increases or decreases the consumption of goods.
You should now be able to find that sweet spot between Density and Consumption :)
The new mod format is also much clearer with much less unnecessary entries. It is now easier for you to edit the values.
Please note: Make sure you have ONLY one (1) of each module enabled at a time. To enable the one you want, remove the '-' at the beginning of the filename, and disable the others by adding '-' in the filename, e.g.: -[Boost] Population Density x5.0 #Disabled mod [Boost] Population Density x2.0 #Enabled mod -[Boost] Population Density x2.0 #Disabled mod [Boost] Consumption x0.5 #Enabled mod
Two PowerShell (Pop. Density & Consumption) scripts are now provided to patch the nodes of interest in an assets.xml file. These patches provide a way to add the Population Density modifier to other mods (ex.: Jakob's Pescaterian population, Colour Collection) You can also use these scripts with the given unedited Base Assets to further customize your gameplay.
To use the patches: 1. Copy the desired "[Boost] [Population Density|Consumption] (Base)" folder to your Anno 1800 "mods" folder. -The "[Boost] [Population Density|Consumption] (Base)" folders are inside the "Base Assets (vX,X.X)" folder -The Anno "mods" folder should be something like : "C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Anno 1800\mods"
2. Copy the corresponding path "Population[Density|Consumption]-UniversalPatch.ps1" *inside* the new "[Boost] [Population Density|Consumption] (Base)" folder -The "Population[Density|Consumption]-UniversalPatch.ps1" patches are inside the "Patches" folder
3. Run the patch by right-clicking it and selecting "Run with PowerShell"
4. The script will ask you to enter a multiplicative modifier (e.g.: 2, 15.0, 0.2) then ask for confirmation and voila!
5. Optional - You can rename the "[Boost] [Population Density|Consumption] (Base)" folder to reflect the new modifier, ex: [Boost] Population Density (5x)
(Remember to activate only one Population Density mod at a time) (Always start with a fresh, unedited "[Boost] [Population Density|Consumption] (Base)" folder)
---------------------------------------------------------- OTHER MODS ----------------------------------------------------------
This mod pairs well with my other mods:
Fast Move-In - for a faster moving-in rate of resident
Influence Boost - for a influence gain boost per engineers and investors residences
---------------------------------------------------------- KNOWN BUGS ----------------------------------------------------------
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS MOD DOES NOT DOUBLE YOUR POPULATION INSTANTANEOUSLY, IT INCREASES THE CAPACITY OF THE RESIDENCES. THEY STILL NEED TO FILL UP AND IT CAN TAKE A WHILE ESPECIALLY FOR INVESTORS, SCHOLARS AND TOURISTS. See my other mod Fast Move-In to remediate to this.
- Has some compatibility issue when used with some other mods for some users: -> Some of Incipium's mods are tweaking the same values, they are most likely not compatible. -> All residences from The Colour Collection mod are not compatible. (Patch available. Thanks to lethanikvothe for the permission.) -> The Buildable Residences mod is most likely not compatible.
Please feel free to leave any suggestions, I will try my best to incorporate them as soon as I can. And if you find any (non-mentioned) bugs, please let me know.
