About this mod
A mod for those who struggle with the original Extreme and Insane difficulties.
- Permissions and credits
I know that most players do suffer on Extreme and Insane, so I decided to tweak a few things.
What came to my mind is Left 4 Dead's Expert mode, which - while still being a true challenge - was very fair in terms of enemy health and its focus on player skill.
I think many enemies in this game become way too much of a bullet sponge beyond Intense, leading to incredibly frustrating situations where there's just no way out alive. While completing a mission with the intended way is indeed much more satisfying, I also believe that there must be a fine line between getting skilled and having fun.
Both difficulties have been rebalanced with the following:
- Way lower enemy health
- Slightly bigger enemy damage
- Everything else remained intact, such as enemy spawns, number of revives, friendly fire damage and so on.
Please also note that I lowered the percentage of XP and Resource gained for all difficulties in exchange for preserving the value of completing the vanilla difficulties.
The goal of this mod is not to cheat, but rather helping players get better and provide a more fair experience if they choose to raise the bar in terms of difficulty.
I may improve this mod based on feedback as well, so feel free to give suggestions.
Big thanks for gladias9 (creator of Aliens Tweaked mod) for his modding guide over here.
INSTALLATION (Same as most of mods for this game):
- Unpack the zip file
- Copy or move the ".pak" file into the following folder: Steam\steamapps\common\Aliens Fireteam Elite\Endeavor\Content\Paks\~mods\
NOTE: If you did not use mods for the game before, there should be no "~mods" folder, so you have to create one.
