Playing Necromancers is fun, but there's a certain... lack of darkness surrounding the entire class. Sure, there is a lot of death and corpse devouring. But it's missing a certain individual theme. This rework aims to make the class a bit more linear and centred on a single strategy.

Most of the Necromancer class units have Inflict Despair and have or gain Exploit Despair. Some units also have Despair Strike for bonus stats. These Necromancer class units have considerably less initial damage, so Exploit Despair damage and effects are buffed to compensate.

The Banshee is now a glorified support unit (still considered an irregular, though, so no healing). It has 1 damage at all ranks, but it now also has Exhausting Fatigue, Inflict Spirit-Breaking, and Energy Drain as a trade-off. This allows you to use your Ghoul Curse with much more efficiency. Combined with high-damage units, the Banshee becomes a terror in its own right.

The Dread Reaper felt a bit lacklustre as a niche tier 4 unit. I took away some of its damage and gave it a bit more of a necromancer feel to it. As I said above, this rework is all about despair. Because of that, I gave it Inflict Despair as its base ability, then gave it Exploit Despair x2 and Despair Strike at higher ranks. If you're patient enough or you can't finish the game easily, the Dread Reaper can help a lot. It gains +1 blight damage for each champion level. Not much else needs to be said about this; the Dread Reaper is now a true terrifying pseudo-assassin with the tools to easily finish off a lower-tier enemy.

As a true support unit, the Reanimator now has Inflict Despair. Since it was never meant to be a damage-dealer, I didn't give it Exploit Despair. It still has its base damage with Black Bolts, and gains damage through ranking up still.

I felt that the Lost Soul didn't have any substance (it's just a soul, so it technically doesn't), so I boosted this unit a bit as well. It now has 4 base damage, but it gains damage as you rank it up. Just like the Dread Reaper, for each champion level, it also gains +1 blight damage. It has both Inflict Despair and Exploit Despair at rank 1, and it becomes a pseudo-assassin in its own right. So if you're unable to get a Dread Reaper soon, or just don't care to research it, the Lost Soul can step in to help out.

The Cadaver was a bit of an odd-ball to me. It served as a sacrificial unit with nothing else. I feel like this unit could have a lot of potential, so, as with the rest of the units in this mod, I gave it Inflict Despair and Exploit Despair at rank 1. However, I also gave this unit 3 physical damage at rank 1 to compensate for this rework. As a reward for ranking this unit up, I also gave it Despair Strike at Elite (gold) rank and +1 blight damage per champion level. Now these piles of bones and rags can truly shine (as shiny as bones can get) on the battlefield without worrying about having a weak frontline.

The Death Bringer is a very nice unit with its Ghoul Curse. Because of this specific utility, I had to hurt her a bit. She has 9 damage, Inflict Despair, and Exploit Despair at rank 1. However, this unit has no champion-rank scaling. Instead, it has a second stack of Exploit Despair at Elite (gold) rank.
