The second release of my Strangereal Skin Suggestions series (SCubed)- an X-02S scheme designed as a conceptual Stonehenge defense squadron for the Federal Republic of Erusea. Suggested by Discord user Buort.

This mod contains one skin and is the second of my Strangereal Skin Suggestions series' Volume 1.
The skin was suggested by Buort on Discord.
Flown by the Federal Erusean Air Force's 57th Air Division, 12th Special Tasks Squadron, several YX-02A prototypes were intended for the defense of the Stonehenge Turret Network, and now hang as display pieces in various aviation museums throughout the world, thanks to an unfortunate series of events that would ironically ensure the airframes' survival. The planes likely only survive to this day due to the grounding of the few YX-02A test and evaluation aircraft that had been produced by 2005 due to wing flex concerns, and due to the temporary suspension of the Wyvern program at the hands of Erusean politics and mounting budget overruns. Military historians are in agreement that had the 12th Special Tasks Squadron sortied with the grounded Wyverns, it is highly likely that all of them would be destroyed at the hands of Mobius One, the near-mythic ISAF ace, in the battle over Stonehenge in April 2005.
With the beginning of the X-02S production run in 2019, the Royal Erusean Air Force unveiled a commemorative X-02S to honor the sacrifice of Erusean Air Force pilots during the Continental War. The aircraft is a reproduction of the original FEAF Shooting Stars YX-02A liveries, so chosen due to the legendary sense of honor of the members of that squadron; while they may not have flown in defense of Stonehenge, the squadrons' pilots had seen much action before and after that fateful day, and had been selected for their skill alongside a unique sense of duty, and their ability to represent the best of the Erusean Air Force. With this commemorative scheme, the Royal Erusean Air Force officials said they "hoped to honor the sacrifice of all who fought in the Continental War, not for ideology or conquest, but for their country."
Naturally, this sentiment has caused some controversy in parts of Usea and their overseas allies, with Osean journalist Jessica Ryan claiming in a Gaze opinion piece on Thursday, February 7th that "The Erusean monarchy's whitewashing of a bloody and violent history shows that they, too, harbor the expansionist and nationalist tendencies of the old regime. There is a fine line between honoring the fallen of an unjust war, and honoring the unjust cause they fought for."
