Captain Monika Riegel is the official flight commander of Doki Squadron: an IUN coalition of Anean, Verusan, Osean, and Usean pilots dedicated to ensuring peace throughout Strangereal.

Prior to her current assignment in Doki Squadron, Captain Riegel served in the Emmerian Air Force as a young cadet during the Emmeria-Estovakia War; her squadron served with distinction throughout the conflict but was decimated by their technologically superior Estovakian opponents–the survivors would later be disbanded at the war’s conclusion.   Following the establishment of an IUN peacekeeping mission in Estovakia in 2016, the young pilot was transferred to the Emmerian contingent and met Lieutenant Sasaki; the two would become the original two members of Doki Squadron, later adding Second Lieutenants Gushiken and Kuroyanagi and Colonel Kuo to form the squadron’s current arrangement.  

With the outbreak of the Lighthouse War, Doki Squadron would be redeployed to Eastern Usea, where they would prove instrumental in holding back the main Erusean advance long enough for elements of the LRSSG to successfully eliminate the Arsenal Birds and turn the tide of the war; the squadron would also assist Osean efforts in investigating the involvement of the Grey Men in instigating several armed conflicts in the continent.

Captain Riegel, also known under her callsign “Console” for her notable technical and IEWS skills (and her prototype CoPro which she always equips on her two-seater aircraft), is believed to be in a relationship with Colonel Kuo; whether such claims are true will not be confirmed by any member of the squadron.
