SUMMARY
The XFA-33 FENRIR is a next-generation multirole stealth fighter developed by Leasath under the direct supervision of Diego Gaspar Navarro. Featuring state-of-the-art metamaterial and cutting-edge array of arsenal, this superfighter is a direct response to the imminent threat of seventh generation fighter being deployed around the world, led by the eventual combat deployment of ADF-11F Raven in 2019. Therefore, Project FENRIR is initiated, with a goal of dominating global arms race of 7th generation aircraft with far superior and technologically advanced XFA-33 FENRIR.
HISTORY
Aurelia acquired a single prototype model from Leasath, showing an interest to reverse-engineer it for domestic production. Unlike the original Leasath model, the Aurelian Fenrir is highly customized for true multirole mission with conventional flight performance intended for sustained operation. Engine system has been lightened to reduce the overall weight of the aircraft, delivering high degree of mobility at the cost of stability and partial loss of hovering capability in return. Optical camouflage has been removed as well to further reduce manufacturing cost. In addition, Aurelian weapon officers opted for a more conventional weapon loadout, not intending to use meson weapon as it is more needed for ground defense units instead. However, with advancements in Aurelia's satellite technology and joint venture in development of directed energy weapons called High Powered Microwave (HPM), Aurelian FENRIR can install energy-based weapon capable of igniting hostile units with directed plasma sphere to the point of combustion. This HPM variant is more advanced than the Leasath-manufactured one with the replacement of ground-based station by a satellite as the secondary plasma emitter, allowing practically unlimited use of HPM in long-range operation. Since Aurelia was the first to acquire Fenrir and successfully modified it for domestic need, it has been given a designation of XFA-33A FENRIR-A. The first operators of FENRIR-A are two of Aurelia's Special Operation squadron, officially named Experimental Flight Technology Evaluation Squadron "Falco", and Tactical Fighter Squadron "Gryphus".
Leasath, not fully recovering from the brink of Civil War yet, offered to sell the licensing rights to any military contractors willing to manufacture FENRIR. Only General Resources Ltd. responded due to its capability to mass produce any aircraft using Advanced Automated Aviation (AAA) Plant technology. As a result, GR now is the largest exporter of FENRIR in the world. Following the original plan to "sell FENRIR for everyone", and in order to meet the export demands, GR released two variants of their aircraft. The original Leasath specification, designated as XFA-33B FENRIR-B, and GR custom modification, designated as XFA-33C FENRIR-C. The FENRIR-B retained all of its original configuration that Leasath applied into the aircraft, including a full vector-thrusting auxiliary engine to allow mid-air hovering and increasing stability. Although highly expensive to build, it can activate optical camouflage to render the aircraft invisible to enemy guidance from long range. Unlike Leasath's optical camouflage system, GR's one, by comparison, can only either be constantly active or inactive because of complexity in its metamaterial production in large quantity. Conforming to no limitations about meson-based weaponry, FENRIR-B has access to the lethal Long-range Shock-Wave Missile (LSWM), gaining an unprecedented long-range interdiction capability. LSWM is a scaled down weapon based on Shock-Wave Ballistic Missile (SWBM), a gigantic area of effect weapon, a burst missile that uses Leasath's own proprietary specialized ｍｅｓｏｎ ｆｕｅｌ to spread and detonate a massive blue-tinted explosion over a tremendous distance. Such weapon is the latest evolution of thermobaric weapon after the advent of Belka's polynitrous-based Multi-Purpose Burst Missile (MPBM) developed during the Belkan War. General Resources' custom model FENRIR-C is designed to answer a question of an effective counter against a new threat of hypersonic reconnaissance aircraft known as the DarkStar. It is reported that this next generation recon plane can reach up to Mach 10, rendering all interceptors in existence obsolete. However, it can only reach such speed for an extremely limited time, as DarkStar will mostly cruise at Mach 5. Therefore, GR carefully developed a hypersonic-capable FENRIR capable of cruising at Mach 5.5, taking note at the aircraft's compatibility to sustain a flight at such speed thanks to its enormous airframe. In fact, its size is closely resembling the Mach 3 predecessor of the DarkStar, the SR-71 Blackbird. All the hypersonic retrofit meant that such engine must remain stable, and it is concluded that hovering capability is not required for high-speed mission. Its meson-based weaponry has also expanded, now adapting to its role as a hypersonic interceptor, including the development of a Meson Electro-Magnetic Launcher (MEML), capable of tracking and destroying long range target with high speed projectile loaded with miniaturized ｍｅｓｏｎ ｆｕｅｌ that will explode upon proximity and evaporate hostile units, a befitting weapon for hypersonic pursuit. Another type of meson weapon is also provided, by modifying the body of a Fuel-Air Explosive Bomb and replacing the conventional fuel with ｍｅｓｏｎ ｆｕｅｌ, called Short-range Shock-Wave Bomb (SSWB). Although smaller in term of blast radius compared to LSWM due to a lack of effective fuel dispersion mechanism, by being a bomb armed with a rather basic airburst fuse, it remains an effective area of effect weapon nonetheless. An anonymous buyer from the northern hemisphere has acquired several batches of XFA-33C for high-speed, hit-and-run black ops, assigned to an elite unit known for painting its vehicles with cryptic livery, only recognized by its nickname as "GOD EATER".

• XFA-33A SP - High-Powered Microwave
Previously an unobtainable piece of directed energy weapon, the High-Powered Microwave (HPM) has finally been released and ready for installation onboard XFA-33A FENRIR-A. With some tuning by Aurelia to the plasma sphere delivery system, it can now be equipped to FENRIR-A independent from a static ground-based power station, relying fully on orbiting satellite to emit opposing plasma sphere instead. But since it is using a different targeting system, its sphere formation can potentially be disrupted by a concentrated enemy weapons fire such as Close-In Weapon System (CIWS).
• XFA-33B SP - Long-range Shock-Wave Missile
Skimming on the boundary of tactical nuclear weapon, Leasath decided to develop a hypersonic shockwave weapon by using Leasath's special fuel based on meson to ignite and detonate its payload over an extremely wide area, forming a lethal shockwave that can terminate anything within its blast radius. Previously test-fired by Gleipnir airborne fortress as Shock-Wave Ballistic Missile (SWBM), a miniaturized weapon is developed to allow mounting inside FENRIR-B's internal weapon bay. With its high level of proximity detection fuze, the LSWM ensures "a weapon that attempts to stuff the maximum tolerance level of meson allowed into a pocket-sized portable missile" hit its mark.
• XFA-33C SP - Meson Electro-Magnetic Launcher
As Leasath is developing its meson-based LSWM, General Resources took notice about the potential application of such particle and quickly assembled a research study to mass-produce meson-based weaponry for its custom unit, XFA-33C FENRIR-C. The pinnacle of ensuing weapon program is the Meson Electro-Magnetic Launcher (MEML). By using a pair of modified EASA "Arclight" EML, GR has replaced its projectile from a conventional, unguided kinetic bullet with an extremely advanced, GPS-guided, proximity-fuzed chemical bullet loaded with a tiny compartment comprised of meson fuel and a mini-cyclotron that has 5% of the detonation radius as Leasath's LSWM, enough to cause a substantial shockwave to knock out even the most concentrated enemy unit. The experimental autoloader system has also been retained, allowing a continuous discharge of up to 6 rounds in the magazine before recharging.
• PASSIVE SP - FENRIR ECMS
This electromagnetic countermeasure system was once manufactured by Leasath to be equipped on its FENRIR, but as the development cost skyrocketed, it was dismounted and the parts were sold to other nations that can afford the device. XFA-24A Apalis is one of the few combat aircraft capable of installing FENRIR ECMS, purchased by Aurelia and entered service along with its experimental squadrons. In turn, Aurelia eventually added FENRIR ECMS unit into its own domestically-produced FENRIR-A. General Resources followed suit and reequipped FENRIR ECMS back for FENRIR-B and FENRIR-C. It is an Integrated Electronic Warfare System (IEWS) that emits strong jamming and radar interference within FENRIR's proximity. Unlike chaff & flare, FENRIR ECMS can be activated continuously, but due to the sensitive electronics mounted inside the airframe, it can only be deployed at relatively level flight.
