Why make this mod?
Well, I made it because I usually play on the second hardest difficulty of the game. The only problem I have with it is the sponginess of Zombies and Animals. I don't mind them one-shotting me if I (more or less) one shot them. So there you have it.
What does it do?
Reduces the HP of all Hostile Entities (Zombies and Animals) by a certain percentage %.
Mod contents
The only thing that was edited was the entityclasses.xml and is easily modified to your preference. You can find it inside the "Config" folder. I left comments inside the entityclasses.xml file to help you navigate the code.
Mod versions
The default file is 33% HP reduction to all Zombies and Hostile animals (this is what I use and felt was the best sweet-spot) but you can just download the version of the mod you prefer. 25%, 33%, 50%, 66% and 75% health reductions are all provided in the "Files" section.
Alternatively you can set their life to your preference inside the code. Note: The Wolf hp value should extend to the Dire Wolf and the Mountain Lion so by changing that value you're changing their HP as well.
