Add 3 different Radiation zones to the game. Protect yourself from the new threat by equipping Nomad Armor or with the newly discovered Potassium Iodide pills! Don't venture too long into the radiation as you may gain Radiation Sickness.

Changelogs
Version 1.0.336.2410
Created Potassium Powder and Iodide Salt found in medical supplies and used in a recipe to craft Potassium Iodide Pills
Potassium Iodide Pills no longer instantly cure Radiation Sickness, rather it reduces the Radiation Sickness counter until it reaches zero
Potassium Iodide Pills now last 5 minutes instead of 3
Radiation Sickness becomes harder to cure the longer you're exposed. Increased the maximum counter from 25 to 100
Radiation Sickness has a higher frequency of damage from higher exposure rates
Low/High/Deadly Radiation no longer display the Radiation Sickness counter
Version 1.0.336.2409b
Corrected a bug with the High Radiation zone during Nighttime
Version 1.0.336.2409
Unprotected will cause the "standard" radiation screen effect applied (intensity levels; Low 0.1, High 0.2, and Deadly 0.4)
Partially protected will have some screen effect applied
Fully protected (taking no damage) will no longer have a screen effect applied
Exploration at night reduces the chance of taking radiation damage
New characters will begin with 1 Potassium Iodide pill
Radiation Sickness counter is independent of taking damage AND counts faster in higher radiation zones
Version 1.0.336.2408b
Created Deadly Radiation damage breakdowns (Indoor vs Outdoor, Unprotected, Armor, Pills, Fully Protected)
Modified High Radiation damage for indoors while unprotected
Created visual chart to quickly identify safety vs dangerous conditions (see uploaded images/screenshots)
Moving outdoors to indoors in either the High or Deadly radiation will change the screen effect
Version 1.0.336.2408
Updated buff naming to allow usage alongside other Radiation mods. (buffRadiationLow, buffRadiationHigh)
Updated Localization for 'Radiation Sickness" rather than 'Radiation Poisoning' for consistency
Updated buff effect_groups to remove buff(s) appropriately before causing potential damage
Moved Pre-generated Radiation maps to separate ZIP file for more customized downloads
Version 1.0.333.2408
First release adding 3 levels of Radiation and Potassium Iodide Pills to the game.
2025-07-30 UPDATE: I verified this mod still works with the latest version of 7 Days to Die (v2.1 b10). I'll try to drop a YT video going over how to set up the mod and what it all does. I'm planning to incorporate a debuff dependent on which biome you are in and what gear you may be wearing. I was holding off with any major updates to this mod knowing v2 was supposed to have a great weather system in place and I'm starting to feel like my wait on TFP wasn't justified. ^^^^^^^^
----------------- Notice: This can be used on Dedicated Servers without requiring others to download/install (Server-side Mod) -----------------
Adds the ability to have 3 separate radiation zones within your Generated World! (Low, High, Deadly)
The higher level of radiation the higher amount and frequency in which you take damage. If exposed for too long you will gain Radiation Sickness which must be treated even if you leave the radiated zone.
While wearing a full set of Nomad armor or taking Potassium Iodide pills you will negate damage in the Low Level zones. The High Level Radiation zones require the Nomad armor and Potassium Iodide pills to negate damage. The Deadly Level Radiation zones will cause damage to you while outdoors even with armor and pills but at a reduced rate.
Exploring at night reduces the chance of damage while in the radiation zone.
While protected from Radiation you still have a chance to take on long-term effects of Radiation Sickness while exploring.
Usage/Installation: 1) Place folder/files contained within the ZIP in your "7 Days to Die\Mods" folder 2) Create a RandomGen map while in-game 3) Alt+Tab or Exit the game 4) Open "%appdata%\7DaysToDie\GeneratedWorlds\RANDOMGEN_CREATED\" 5) Edit/Replace the "radiation.png" found in the WORLD directory using the following RGB color codes for radiation; 0,255,0 - Level 1 Low Level 0,0,255 - Level 2 High Level 255,0,0 - Level 3 Deadly Level 6) Launch your new game
Tip: Use https://kui.github.io/7dtd-map/ to preview your generated world and find areas to make radiated.
