About this mod
UPDATE: v2.0. Also compatible with Rebirth, and A21.
All creative doors available in upgradable wood, iron, steel, and powered versions.
Server-side only mod, clients are not required to download.

Why let yourself be limited by the ugly door choices when its possible to make one look the best they can be for your build and still be as tough as the toughest? Open new worlds through the doors of NED and unlock your potential creativity! No longer will doors be "form XOR function" when they can exist together as "form AND function".
Everything still follows the vanilla format and difficulty, just imagine as if your doors were able to change "skins". Some very anti-meta gaming server owners might not like some doors like jail doors, that's somewhat valid and very easy to solve without needing to remove the jail doors, just add the proper values in the 'Collide' property for those doors. If that was the case though I'd rather be worried that the server setup is suffering from issues that make players want to meta game.
PS: This is my first 7DTD mod, I regret doing something this big for my first project. It took all the sanity I had so I didn't get to test as much as I wanted to. I'd highly appreciate feedback.

NED's main version contains all 492 vanilla "doors" I've found and considered. That includes the colored versions. Out of that 492 doors, 289 of them are barricaded, which means there's an additional 289 that is non-barricaded or "clean". Summed up along with the variant helpers for the 8 types of doors, the total is 789. This 789 will all have their wood, iron, steel, and powered versions, which makes a grand total of 3,156 doors.

I do not consider drawbridges as doors. I will include it in the mod as an optional modlet if there's a feedback regarding it though. Tell me your thoughts on this.
NED now has a prefab containing all NED doors in their wood toughness. This should make it easier for me and server owners to test out the mod. I did not include iron, steel, and powered versions due to the sheer number of them. However, since it's the wood toughness that I've placed down, you can cover testing of iron and steel by upgrading the wood doors. It's only the powered versions that you'll have to place down yourself if you want to test those too.
The file is under the Miscellaneous category, named as PaperSama0104_NotEnoughDoors_Prefab.

None of the vanilla doors/blocks have been touched in any manner, which means even if another mod touches any of the vanilla door's properties in blocks.xml, NED will be fine.
However, NED appends to 3 repair tools (Stone Axe, Clawhammer, Nailgun) in items.xml. If any of these 3 items have been modified by other mods in a way that does not allow NED to add to the item's Allowed_upgrade_items, then NED will either cause errors or lose to function to be upgradable.
NED also replaces the vanilla wood door set in the "Place Door" Homesteading challenge with NED's wood door. This means that although you won't be able complete the challenge with a vanilla door, you will be able to with NED's wood door, unless changed by other mods.
There is also an optional modlet named NED_1_Optional_RVR which is included in the main version by default. This modlet will remove all 29 vanilla door recipes because it is redundant with NED's recipes, so if there's other mods that require these vanilla recipes, there might be compatibility issues.
On NED's v1.2.0 update, two new compatibility files were added. The first adds compatibility with game version A21.2, the second adds compatibility with Rebirth overhaul mod on version EXPERIMENTAL 2025.02.19 2000.

Sound and Particle Effects
One issue the mod has is that the doors' mesh damage (when the door goes from some hp to another and changes its looks, i.e. from barricaded to clean, to damaged with holes, etc.) sound and particle effects seem to be assigned in the doors' models. This means I won't be able to change that without changing the mod to client-side mod.
I won't do that if that's the case as I want to play with server-side mods.
Colors
The vanilla currently has 13 colors total it uses, but it doesn't use it for all the doors with colors. For example, the jail doors only uses 6 of these colors. I plan to make an optional file that will complete these colored doors, but I'll only start making that when I have someone to collaborate with regarding the colors as not all use the same hex values (example, ironDoorBrown's hex is 7E786E, jailDoorBrown is 7A6959, exteriorHouseDoorBrown is 5F4D46, and so on.).
Aside from that, another requirement before I start on this is when I've decided on how many other colors aside from the vanilla to include. If you've seen Lt. Dan's A21 Door Revisions, I mean exactly those kinds of colors. I'm pretty bad with color, so I would really need help on this one.
Inverse Powered
I've never had the opportunity to try one of these, nor do I have knowledge of how to do this yet mod-wise, but I do know that it exists. It might be client-side so it will definitely be a modlet and not included in the main version. Will only try to do this if enough people want it.
Other Toughness Versions
Some servers might have doors that are tougher than steel, like the one I play in which has titanium doors. I plan to collaborate with those that want their standalone or addon NED version of their doors.

Is this mod safe to remove?
It is safe IF AND ONLY IF all instances of the items and blocks are erased from the world before removal. This means all variant helper items in players and storages, and already placed down NED doors in the world.
Is it safe to update to the latest/newer version or do I have to start a new save?
For every update, I always try to state if it is safe or not. Please do read the latest update above or the changelogs in the articles section.
Is the xxx door/hatch/shutters/gate/roll-up/etc included?
EVERY functional (openable/closable) door, including all colored and all sizes that is available in the vanilla blocks.xml that I found are included. They all have their wood, iron, steel, and powered versions too.
