About this mod

The vanilla game was missing a super rad BMX park... so, I corrected that deficiency. You'll thank me later.

FNS Beverly BMX Park (A21)

Tier:
2

Quest type(s):
Fetch, Clear, Infested,

I plan to add "Restore Power" quests to a future version, but am still learning how those mechanics work in POI creation.

Background flavor text from Trader Joel:

"Welcome back friend.  Could you do me a favor?  It's a pretty big ask, but I can make it worth your time.  You see, a buddy of mine normally swings by every few months, but it's been almost a year without a word from him.  He is one of the only people still alive that I knew from before the world moved on.  His name is Elliot, he used to be in my sons youth group at the old Nazarene church.  Elliot took over the family's gravel pit business and converted it into a mountain biking course some years ago.  Could you check on him for me?  His folks were real good to me sending the family casserole dishes when we lost Sue-Ellen.  I figured you checking in on him is the least we could do."

Path throughout the POI:
It's a BMX raceway.  Activate the quest, then ride down the ramp through the course.  The satchel can spawn in several places, and the "main" loot is by the fire barrels.  My advice is to use the bike on the ramps to traverse to the next section, then get off to fight the dead.

The first fighting zone (is past the water jump), and is populated with feral Arlenes and vulture(s).

The second fighting section after the bus jump has dogs and lumberjacks.

The third section is the minefield with feral Tom Clarks.  If you cycle fast the mines shouldn't hurt you.  You should be happy they're there, use them to your advantage.

The fourth section is the cell tower mini-POI.
It has Jannies, and Utility Workers at the base.  Wake them all up, and lure them over to the truck and propane tank, then blow it up for some cinematic mayhem.
The middle of the cell tower has vultures and a spider.  Satchel!

Then you bike to the fire barrel jump, the fifth and final combat section.  Kill the feral Burnies under the jump.  Where's that satchel?!

Then cycle up the ramp after the fire barrel jump towards the start of the map leaping onto/over the asphalt parking area where you began.

Psst.  I hear there is a secret path to a Jawoodle sports bag.

Author's note:
Bring a bicycle!!!  It's pretty much required equipment.  The mini-bike and motorcycle accelerate too slowly for the course.  Have fun!  I did the best I could with the ramps within the limitations of the game engine.  Tony Hawk Pro Skater, this is not, but I still think you guys are going to have an awesome time with this POI!

Difficulty:
The Fetch is too easy, but still fun (1 Shamwich).  The Infested Clear is a 4 Shamwiches out of 5 challenge.  If you ride past the zombies during an Infested Clear, you might have to circle back, but no big deal, that's easy to do with how the track is laid out.

Recommended Mods: These are not required, but they increase the fun of this POI and your game overall.
1. Increase Vehicle Speed (A21 compatible) https://www.nexusmods.com/7daystodie/mods/3161
2. Nanashi's Vehicle Be Tough mod (A21 compatible): https://7daystodiemods.com/vehicle-be-tough-mod/
3. Vehicle Damage Reducer: https://www.nexusmods.com/7daystodie/mods/3152
Those are all compatible with each other and A21.
Go faster, and remove the hassle of vehicle repairs... unmodded vanilla vehicles are now made out of papier mâché .

Introducing the Beverly BMX Park 7D2D community Infested Clear Time Trials challenge! BMX-TT for short (or BMX-titty if you're G9).

"Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!  Live, at the Beverly BMX park.  Watch [insert player name] perform death defying feats while he [or she] races for their life.  Adults $7 dollars, children get in free with proof of purchase of Goblino cereal... Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!"

If you know any 7d2d YouTube content creators, please politely urge them to participate, or maybe even do charity with this friendly competition.

Options:

A. You can do this from the play test Prefab editor if you want the authenticity of using a standardized Tier 3 experienced character in that sandbox environment.

B. Or, just play the game in a world, and come across the mission organically. I think this is more fun to
have randos walk into POI while doing the job.

C. Content creators know how to do both of those things at the same time.

Da Rules:

0. Record and upload your video if you want people to believe your results.

1. The only cheating mods allowed are the aforementioned "Recommended Mods" above.  QoL mods are fine.

2. Get the job from the trader, and head to the starting line (Bright Yellow Quest Activation Exclamation mark).  Place your bike on/behind the numbers at the starting line.

3. Take all the supps, food and drink you want at the starting line prior to activating the quest. Prior to starting, it's probably smart to reload, repair weapons, be fully healed, fed, watered, stamina juicing, etc.  You are allowed to use anything legal during the run.  Vanilla clothes, food, books, guns, drinks, drugs, and shoes are all allowed.  So bring your letter-jacket, running shoes, 45 pistol with skill book, stack of mega crush, stamina food, drugs, etc.

4.  Activate the quest and start your stopwatch as the starter pistol sound is fired initiating the fetch quest.  Get on your bicycle, and start at the top of the ramp on/behind the numbers.

5. You must Clear the Infestation, and complete at least one circuit of the course.  The course circuit ends when you bike jump  down to (or passed) the asphalt parking lot.  As soon as your bike clanks down on the ground, stop time.  Multiple circuits are acceptable (though bad for time).  Circling back, and getting on/off the bike to fight are all expected.  All weapons and gear are fine, but you should be a "Tier 2" character.

Scoring:

1. Complete the course, 30 points.

2. Biome bonus:
+ 20 for the POI in the Wasteland,
+ 10 for Snow,
+ 5 for Desert,
+ 2 for Burned Forest (lol).

3. Horde Night run bonus:
If you activate the quest between 22:00 and 02:00 you gain a +20 point bonus.

4. Time Bonus:
+50 points for an under two minute run.  I'm not sure this is actually possible, but I want to see someone do it!
+40 under three.  Yes, it's possible for pros.
+30 under four.   Separating the wheat from the chaff.
+20 under five.  The folks back home are routing for you!
+10 under six.  How does it feel to be the bronze medal?
+0 under seven.  Participation trophy.
-10 for anything over 7:01.  That was a disgraceful performance, and you should feel bad.  :P

5. Death Race Hit and Run bonuses:
+5 for wounding a zombie while on the bike by crashing into them.  You can only achieve this once per run.
+10 for killing a zombie while on the bike by crashing into them.  You can only achieve this once per run.

Honor system, and judging will be used to validate point total.  It's just for fun guys, don't take it too seriously.

Judging one of my own "above average player" runs:
Completed the race: +30
Biome Bonus, Snow: +10
Horde Night Bonus: +20
Time Bonus, under 6 minutes: +10
Wounding a zombie while on the bike by crashing into them: +5
Total score= 75, C-tier run.

A God-like run would be:
Completed the race: +30
Biome Bonus, Wasteland: +20
Horde Night Bonus: +20
Time Bonus, under 2 minutes: +50
Wounding a zombie while on the bike by crashing into them: +5
Killing a zombie while on the bike by crashing into them: +10
Total score= 135, Grade SS-tier run.

Please add some other bonus/penalty score ideas into the forum.
Ideas I've toyed with as variants:
1. Stone Age Challenge: No food, drink, supps, meds, clothing, equipment, no equipment mods, etc.  You get one stone age melee weapon (or bone knife), bow, and one stack of stone arrows.
2. No experience points run.
3. Post-quest horde battle at the POI: After you finish the quest during the blood moon, you remain within the POI area to fight the
horde there for an additional 20 points if you can survive and complete mop up.

4. Judged with commentary.  Judges can award/subtract bonus points for flare, derring-do, or muppetry.
5. Additional penalties for using items during the run.  Healing bandages, ammo reloads, food, drink, supps, etc.

Constructive criticism is welcome.

I hope you enjoy these POIs as much as I do making them for you.

These POI are free to use and bundle in other 7d2d mod packs, but please give credit to FlufferNutterSandwich (FNS).

Installation:

1. To Install the POI(s) and make it able to be spawned during Random World Generation, you must install
the unzipped files into: YOURDRIVE:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\Data\Prefabs\POIs

2. This could spawn in a city, if you edited the XML file, but because of the large size of the POI, I chose to make it a "wilderness" region POI.  Playing solo, it would probably load fine in the city on good hardware, but it's so big, it would lag out a server if placed into a city.  It also won't currently generate there... I know it looks odd sticking out in the middle of nowhere.  Since I am mostly a solo/LAN player, I make large maps for my own use.

3. You must delete already randomly generated worlds from your:
YOURDRIVE:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\7DaysToDie\GeneratedWorlds folder.
Warning! Be mindful not to delete worlds you still wish to play in!

4. When Randomly World Generating (RWG), you must allow/increase Wilderness POIs for these to populate.  You must generate a new random world of sufficient size to allow this POI to spawn.  If you have never generated a world, it can take 5-30 minutes depending on world size and your hardware.  Kick it off and go get some chores done.  I generally recommend 8K+ map sizes.

5. To uninstall them, just remove the POI files from the aforementioned folder locations.  My POI's all begin with FNS_...
