About this mod

Live Free Or Die adds many new food, drink, and farming items to 7DTD. LFOD is also the original Mod to introduce Machines to 7DTD. Think Minecraft meets the Zombie Apocalypse.

This Mod is not an assembly of pre-existing Mods. Everything was created specifically for this Mod, though some help from the forums moved things along. Thanks to all who answered my questions! Live Free Or Die is the original Mod to introduce machines to 7 Days To Die. The Mod is created with the intent of a less punishing early game, but more difficult mid and late game.

Live Free or Die blends semi-realistic elements with a Minecraft-esque style of using Machines to accomplish things that were previously and unrealistically accomplished with the crafting menu. Overall difficulty and depth of gameplay is increased. Many new items and blocks are available aside from the machines, but not an overload of things just to have more 'stuff'. Everything is intended to synergize without clogging player inventory, yet maintain a critical decision making process when looting. Several new weapons are also included, but again, not so many as to upset the balance or become too difficult to manage. Redundancy and adding things for the sake of having more content than the next Mod has been specifically avoided. Quality over quantity is the rule with Live Free Or Die, and balance is strictly monitored and adjusted when necessary. Enemies have been adjusted to move a bit faster during the daytime, but not run. New buffs have been added to compliment Zombie attacks, with an advanced wounding system in place as well. Enemies are generally harder to manage, but not punishingly difficult. Biomes have been adjusted to be more 'alive', with dense forests and more flora in every biome. This may impact performance on low end systems, however, the Mod can be ran with the default Biomes file if this is an issue for your hardware.

The Mod is also compatible with any prefab pack you choose to install. Generally speaking, the Mod touches on every aspect of the game. It is not recommended to combine this Mod with other Mods. Everything from crops to food and drink to weapons to enemies is covered. Bases are never fully safe. As of now, the only area where this Mod lacks content is prefabs, and there are several good packs available to download. Visit the Wiki for additional information. As of this posting, it is still under construction but has plenty of information to get players started.
