Time Passes In Real Time is the time altering mod by RyanFaeScotland.

Time Passes In Real Time adjusts the game speed so that 1 in game minute takes 1 minute in real time, a setting not normally achievable through in game or XML config adjustments.

This is an early release of the mod, specifically for playtesting. You can help improve it by reporting any bugs or issues you find.

Features

In a nutshell, time speed in game is stored as an integer, which means it can't be a fraction or a decimal number, for example it can't be 0.2, it would have to be 0 or 1.

This is problematic because:

  • If we set it to 1, we get 24 hours in game taking 6hrs 40 minutes real time, when what we want is 24 hours in game taking 24 hours real time,
  • If we set it to 0, time in game doesn't move at all, and that doesn't help anyone,

What Time Passes In Real Time does is changes how time speed is stored in game, adjusting it so that it is stored as a float instead, which can be a fraction, and then sets it to 0.27777.

This value of 0.27777 means that 24 hours in game take 24 hours real time.

User Guide

Q & A

"Can you make the time in game follow a certain timezone / computer clock?" - Potentially. This raises some questions about what should happen to the 'lost time' between sessions if no one is playing, but just because there are questions doesn't mean it can't be done.

"Can you make the time in game continue even if no-one is online?" - A future update to the mod will allow this. Let me know if it is an adjustment you are keen to see!

Feedback and Support

Feedback, bug reports and suggestions are always welcome.

I've not had a chance to try it out on a hosted server yet, so would love to know how you and your group get on if you do.

If you like it and want to give me a little support and encouragement, Endorsements on Nexus are a great way. However, I'd also love to get a few more followers on my Twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/ryanfaescotland. Don't worry, I actually hardly ever stream so you won't even need to watch! When I do though it is either 7D2D playthroughs using my own mods, or mod making streams where I attempt to show and guide people in the art of mod making.
