Fog can do a really great job at setting up the atmosphere in the game, but sometimes it's a bit overwhelming in the snow biome, don't you think?
Edit the biomes.xml included to adjust things to your liking. Information on what does what, and what the default settings are can be found in the comments by the modded settings in the biomes.xml
Using on a new game is not necessary, although it is recommended.
