EDIT: V 2.0, I have updated the character pool to include a larger assortment of VIP's based off of different doctors, scientists, and engineers, from mass effect.
Here is a breakdown of all characters included, as per Soldier or VIP. Keep in mind that you need to train a soldier to haved the class you want, the character pool does not ensure the correct class will show up. With an character pool character I recommend training them in gurerrila school to pick the class you want.

I used a few of the doctors as soldiers to fill the role of combat medic (as per the specialist skillset), see Chakwas, Sanders, and Michel. I decided to keep Kelly Chambers as a Vip, but you can certainly change her to a soldier if you want. It worked nice in my game that she showed up as an Engineer and I placed her in my main resistance comm room, seemed fitting for her as a Yeoman. And as per my list, I wanted Jeff as a soldier instead of as a VIP, seemed like he was wasted as a VIP, especially if he shows up as a scientist.
Of course they are all customizeable.

This character pool adds around 37 characters from the Mass Effect universe. Of course with all of the alien type characters in Mass Effect, I did take liberties on converting them to human soldiers.
