What is Vigilo Confido?

Vigilo Confido is a gameplay overhaul mod for XCOM 2. First starting out as a personal project, I originally was not intending to make my changes public. However, I felt I could bring a unique experience to people as well as grow my skills as a modder.
VC focuses on enhancing, improving and adding onto the vanilla features of XCOM 2 by making the game much more difficult, implementing and adding your favorite mods, as well as future implementing mechanics in mind.

What exactly was changed?
  • Starting squad size is now 6 instead of 4
  • Enemies significantly redesigned to be tougher. Some redesigned to be more specialistic
  • Implementation of other mods for extended gameplay mechanics
  • Redesign of the difficulty the vanilla game had in mind
  • Completely restructured experience system based on straight point values
  • Missions now give XP unlike vanilla
  • Longer Research and Proving Ground Project Times!
  • The Changelist is in the "ReadMe" tab! It is updated with every new version

Would You Like To Help Contribute In A Significant Way?
Email me at [email protected] with the following information to possibly become a tester or, maybe, even a team member!
  • Age (minimum of 18 years of age)
  • Name (Including Username and other contact information, Real Name optional)
  • Previous Modding Or Testing Experience (if any)
  • A short explanation of why you think you would benefit the mod (At least one paragraph, and good grammar and spelling)

DISCLAIMER: You are NOT guaranteed a position as a tester or any other title. If I do not respond to your email, you have not made the cut, trust me I will read every email. However, your email and information will be kept so if slots become available for testers or any other staff I need, you may still have a chance! Never give up!

INSTALLATION:

Note: Some versions may not be save compatible with previous ones, so it is advised to start a new game with each new version of VC

Note: DO NOT USE WITH LEADER PACK MOD. The Soldier Fatigue Mod causes a UI issue with the Leader Pack mod

1) Extract Vigilo Confido using 7zip which can be downloaded from http://www.7-zip.org/
2) Place extracted contents in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2\XComGame\Mods
3) Start XCOM 2 and select "VIGILOCONFIDO" through the launcher, as well as any mods you want to play with!

NOTE: You cannot use NexusMod versions of any mod in combination with a Steam Workshop one, it just doesn't work

For updates on the next version expected features, look at Forums tab

Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=642435739

-TheRealSFlo has done a great job of implementing Long War's fatigue system into XCOM 2, creating more importance in soldier management and overall strategy when it comes to mission planning. If you want something that makes XCOM 2 more like Long War, this mod is just one step to the master plan.

FabiusCunctator's SWR (Second Wave Remastered) Not Created Equally

Nexus: http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom2/mods/338/

Steam: http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom2/mods/338/

-As Fabius has stated, this is a vanilla version of EladDV's Second Wave Reborn collection
(http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=622475105&searchtext=Second+Wave+Reborn) which is
designed to give Rookies relatively random starting stats. Coupled with a mod like Hidden Potential, it gives an unpredictable roster of troops
who are either a blessing or a curse.

Hammerstein's Hidden Potential Mod

Nexus: http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom2/mods/140/

Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=618826129

-This is a pretty awesome and customizable mod that follows the Second Wave tradition that Enemy Unknown and Enemy Within has established. It
makes Rookie stats random in between certain ranges as they become promoted. This makes soldier management and using the AWC much more important,
since some soldiers will be better at other things through random chance, which is even better when coupled with a Not Created Equally mod.

SakuraKoi's Increased Enemy Squad Size Mod

Nexus: http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom2/mods/20/

Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=619302232

-I love the pain and misery of increased amound of alien scum coming down ontop of me! SakuraKoi's mod overhauls the game through numbers rather than through quality of enemy units. With vanilla, this actually doesn't make this too hard and actually makes the game more challenging and enjoyable, but God help you if included with a mod that makes enemies tougher

FZeroRider's True Concealment Mod

Nexus: http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom2/mods/57/?

-FZeroRider's True Concealment makes sense both realistically and in gameplay mechanics by adding stealth as a actual method of completing a mission.
Makes the game so much more organic. Go give the standalone a try!

Long War Leader Pack Mod

Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=577517577&searchtext=Leader+Pack

Nexus: http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom2/mods/6/?

-Thank you so much to 2K and Johny Lumpkin for permission to merge their mod with mine. Created with quality and gameplay
enhancement in mind, LW's Leader Pack adds extra spice to tactical missions by giving your soldiers an extra kick as well
as adding to the immersion and story of your troops. Give the standalone a run!

BlueRaja's Stop Wasting My Time Mod

Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=620600092

Nexus: http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom2/mods/217/

-Seriously, thank you Raja for shutting Bradford up. Yes, I know the civilians are being murdered! In all seriousness though,
SWMT makes the vanilla game SO much less tedious and annoying than it has to be. Along with shutting Bradford up, Raja also
decided to make the Avenger a little faster to fly on the geoscape, 'cause, let's be honest, we're all a little lazy. Go
try it out, even if my mod is no good to you!
