The aliens have added a new unit to their ADVENT forces. Now introducing the ADVENT Priest.
The ADVENT Priest is a straight up support unit. Their healing and supportive Psionic abilities make up for their lack of offensive power.
Their bread and butter skill is "Soulmend." The ADVENT Priest sends out a bolt of healing psi energy that, you guessed it, heals the target.
They are also exceptional at removing any negative effects affecting their allies with Mind Cleanse. An AoE ability that removes all negative effects, except the likes of Mind Control and Death.
The ADVENT Priest also comes with some abilities to empower their allies. Psi Guard gives 2 points of armor for a moderate amount of time in a small AoE. Also they have Distortion Field, a passive aura that gives allies +10 Defense in a 8 tile radius.
There are three tiers of ADVENT Priests. The Basic one that comes with just Soulmend. The Advanced Priest, comes with an improved Soulmend and Mind Cleanse. And the Elite Priest comes with the whole package as well as the ultimate form of Soulmend, healing 5 health with a 2 turn cooldown.
The ADVENT Priest demands focus, while they don't do too much damage and their aim isn't the greatest, they'll become a pest, constantly healing their allies and giving them armor. If there are more than 2 ADVENT Priests on the battlefield, you can bet for a lengthy confrontation. However to make sure that some of your damage sticks, there can only be 2 Priests per pod.
After completing the ADVENT Priest Autopsy research, you will be able to manufacture a Mend Grenade, which heals all friendly units inside the target area. Upgrade it to the Mend Bomb through Advanced Grenades Research for a bigger radius, range, and heal. Grenade heals 3 health, Bomb heals 5 health.
