A Better ADVENT is an ambitious enemy and AI overhaul, focusing on making encounters with some of the more bland and common enemy types more exciting. It does this by introducing variety through dozens of enemy variants and by completely overhauling the AI.
This mod's goal is not just to add more enemies to the game... it strives to be the centerpiece of a modlist, providing not only more enemies, but - as the name of the mod says - "better" enemies that open up new lines of gameplay. To that end, a high priority has been put on making AI changes and improvements, both global (Mimic beacon behaviour, engagement ranges, ...) and local (Snipers stay back, Shotgunners flank, ...). Better Advent is not only adding some random stuff, it directly improves the core gameplay.

- ADDONS/PLUGINS -

The following addons for A Better ADVENT  are available from my Steam Workshop or as optional files on the ABA page at Nexusmods:
- Better Pods: Improves pod composition and gives a bonus to enemy squad size that scales with forcelevel. Other main features are the introduction of ABA specific enemies into predefined encounters, replacement of vanilla Chryssalids, increased civilian count on Retaliations and a restriction of rulers from the Alien Hunters DLC so they can’t appear on Council missions or Avenger Defense.
- Better Pods PLUS: Like Better Pods, but with an additional +1 to enemy squad size.
- All The Enemies!: Improves compatibility with several enemy mods by other authors by adjusting spawnweights to a common base and by adding units to each others followerlists, enabling them to appear together in a pod.

- CALL REINFORCEMENTS INTEGRATION -

Providing some sort of compatibility with the mod "Call Reinforcements" by Rayman! has always been a popular request. To that end, Better ADVENT now has an option to turn on the Reinforce ability for this mod's captains. Getting the Reinforce ability on vanilla captains will still need a subscription to Rayman!'s original mod, though.
To turn on this option, open the ABA_Settings.ini that comes with this mod. Find the lines that say "UseReinforceForCaptains = false" and "UseReinforceForPrimeCaptains = false" and change either or both of these options to "true".

- NOTES FOR CURRENT PATCH -

Please find the current patch notes here: http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/discussion/628891110/412448158159442348/

Note that the available version on Nexus is not always the last one. I usually upload to Steam Workshop and only after a couple of days also update Nexus. This gives me time to adress any issues that may have popped up. The Nexus file may lag up to 2 weeks behind on the Workshop one.
The reason for that is simple: Updating my mod on Workshop takes me a handful of mouseclicks and a minute. Updating it on Nexus requires me to make zip files, click through a bunch of forms, manually updating texts and takes me between half an hour and a full hour. So i try to keep my interactions with the Nexus to a minimum. Sorry for the inconvenience, but that's how it has to be, i can't sink hours into reuploading my mod here all the time :(
