SCROLL DOWN FOR INFO ON UPDATE
Are you one of those that:
a) feel that military ranks are not good indications of soldier levels, since ranks are as much a chain of command hierarchy as well as not indicative of combat prowess.
b) really really dislike truncation of words and have a hard time remembering the distinctions?
WELL REJOICE. For I have not only used my Google-fu to figure out were soldier ranks are located, but I have also made up a system that has nothing to do with hierarcical structure... kinda. Also, I cannot speak or write Latin, so any insight into the last rank name would be appreciated.
Go to ...XCOM 2/XComGame/Localization/INT/XComGame.int
Open with notepad or whatever program floats your boat.
And find the [X2ExperienceConfig]
Below, replace the rank with the text found in the text-file.
UPDATE 0.2
All class-names have now been changed as well. Ranger is called Reaper, Specialist is now called Tech-priest, Grenadier is now called Terminator, and finally Sharpshooter is now called Specter.
All appropriate lore and text-boxes should reflect these changes. Also, ranks have been altered slightly.
Next Updates.
0.3
Go through all the text bit by bit and see if I can make them more metal without loosing the intended structure and information contained.
0.4
Create Class-specific flags
0.5
Figure out how to apply the flags automatically when a Unproven has been Proven.
0.6
Um, dunno... jump to 1.0 and do something else I guess.
Disclaimer: Since this is a simple text-file edit, I have not bug tested this, nor made sure that the special characters in the PsiShort display correctly. I simply do not have high enough PsiOps to do so yet.
Since it is an text-file edit, any broken saves etc are NOT the fault of this edit. If they are, then that is really really weird. Like super weird, only super duper.
Updated disclaimer: This is an entire file, simply copied from the edited file I have on my computer. Since I do what many single men do, watch porn, hang on strange sites on the internet, etc. There might be a virus contained. I have scanned the .rar for viruses, and found none. But I am not a virus-creator, so I cannot guarantee there is none. Furthermore the changes made by me has not lead to any damages to my game. But since I cannot say for certain what a mod will change, or what some diety will deem proper, there might be conflicts. THEREFORE: ALWAYS BACKUP VANILLA FILES.
