I recommend that you install this mod using Long War Mod Manager (http://www.nexusmods.com/xcom/mods/620/?). Alternatively you can use PatcherGUI 7.1 or better if you wish. This mod has been tested with LW beta 15e/f but it should work with any beta 15 version.
There are 2 versions of this mod in the download zip file. The "VirtualRealityTraining Second Wave.txt" version will create a new second wave "VR Training" option to control whether or not this mod is enabled and MUST be installed using Long War Mod Manager. The "VirtualRealityTraining.txt" version will enable this mod for all games, and can be installed with Long War Mod Manager or PatcherGUI 7.1 (or better).
Healthy and non-fatigued soldiers earn XP every day while at the base. Extra XP can be earned by building the Officer Training School and purchasing officer upgrades. Make those rookies useful at last!
The rank and daily XP values can be configured in the patch file.
By default only soldiers at LCPL and below will receive VR training. This can be changed in the patch file.
DEFAULT DAILY XP CALCULATION:
STANDARD TRAINING: +1 XP (all soldiers qualifying for VR training get this from day 1)
OTC BONUS: +1 XP (build the Officer Training School)
TACTICAL OFFICERS BONUS: +1 XP (buy the "Tactical Officers" OTC upgrade)
COMPANY OFFICERS BONUS: +1 XP (buy the "Company Officers" OTC upgrade)
FIELD OFFICERS BONUS: +2 XP (buy the "Field Officers" OTC upgrade)
REGIMENTAL OFFICERS BONUS: +2 XP (buy the "Regimental Officers" OTC upgrade)
COMMANDING OFFICER BONUS: +3 XP (buy the "Commanding Officer" OTC upgrade)
Examples (using the default values above):
if the OTC has been built and the tactical officers upgrade has been purchased then soldiers get 1 + 1 + 1 = +3XP per day
If all OTC upgrades have been purchased then soldiers get 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 3 = +11XP per day
1.0a - Initial release. PFC and SPECs get 1XP per day
