Herein are files you can pull up on the editor of your choice to sample colors that were really used by their respective militarys during that time. Some have descriptions for how the colors were used directly in the "Comments" section.

This was a project I originally created for IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946 skinners, however, with the introduction of the new "skinning" system coming to War Thunder, I thought now would be a better time than ever to release it to War Thunder.
Inside the .rar file, lie bitmap files with colors from various countries, the samples, descriptions (for a lot), and RGB color codes for all of them. The countries are as follows:
American
Australian
Belgian
British
Dutch
Finnish
French
German
Hungarian
Italian
Japanese
Russian
These are the countries it contains, you can use these files to create swatches and sample the colors you will use for specific countries. All the information from this project was attained at Simmer's Paint Shop (http://www.simmerspaintshop.com/)
I finished this Project on July 29, 2011. It is old, and undoubtedly needs fixes. If enough people show interest, perhaps I will update it and add the Spanish Civil War paints as was requested of me for IL-2.
P.S. Be sure you download the file! The .bmp files carry the true color! The preview images do not!
