About this mod

A mod that replaces Shane with an entirely new character, schedule and design called Matt. Designed after my husband because I didn't like any of the suitors in the game.

So this is my first mod! I really want to love this game but I couldn't really get into it without a suitor that interested me.. all the options just seemed too extreme of archetypes, or boring. Plus, even with mods, their portraits didn't really interest me. I decided to mod my husband into it so I could just marry him again!

This replaces the portrait for Shane (I made the base using Game Character Hub portrait for RPG Maker VX Ace and then drew what I wanted ontop of that), the name under the portrait (name is still hard-coded for important events like wedding), the sprite + Jojamart working sprite and all dialogue (pre/post wedding). I tested it a bit and it seems to work really well! The portrait obviously looks a little more soft than the others because of the base, but it still fits the game and the sprite/dialogue fit as well. I might go through and edit other's dialogue to replace Shane with Matt and see if I can fix any of the hardcoded issues but until now, I'm happy as is!

Thought I'd upload just incase anyone else didn't like vanilla suitors and might find this more to their taste. To install, extract the rar and copy/paste the content folder, overwrite all the files that pop up. 

Some known bugs:
  • Even though the name is changed for the "Shane is busy" when you try to talk to him at Joja, it sometimes shows Matt and sometimes doesn't.  FIXED 1.1
  • 4 Heart event sprite of Shane is default--this wasn't in Shane's sprites but I'll see about editing it considering all the others were, so he moves and instantly turns to Matt.  FIXED 1.1
  • Marnie's dialogue also says Shane, but thats something I knew would happen and may edit later if I'm able to  FIXED 1.1 - Event dialogue, still working on normal dialogue
  • Hard coded events like wedding still say Shane, nothing I can do about that unless there's a work around
  • a $n/neutral portrait change doesn't trigger in his dialogue so it just says "$neutral" mid-sentence FIXED 1.1
