Hunting is very random and it's very difficult to get all leather you need to make a complete snow infantry suit which protect you against cold (you need to kill something like 122 monsters !). Further, there is a lot of meat you can't get in an other way than buying it.
THE MOD
Hunting monsters will now give you an unique item, a corpse.
Hunting flying monsters will now give poultry.
Fishes give... raw fish !
Alien meat : it's the most simple piece of food so it can be get in the most simple way, in the crafting menu. It can be found in the food category.
Leather, bone and most meats : use a cooking table. There can bee easily found using the "other" filter.
MANUAL INSTALLATION :
Unpack the file into your Starbound/mods folder.
