Permissions and credits
Hello! whoever downloaded my content may edit/re-upload it in anyway shape or form, no need to contact me as long as you write my name into the credits

HOW TO INSTALL:

1. Copy the whole "instrumentcratingtable" folder into your "mods" directory which is the root of your main starbound folder aka "C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/SteamApps/common/Starbound/mods"

2. that's it, they made installing mods real easy!

3. now, in order to play any songs you need to acquire some fancy .abc files
you can find those all over the internet on sites like

http://www.lotro-abc.com/
http://abcnotation.com/

or even on the forums, for instance
http://community.playstarbound.com/index.php?threads/the-great-collection-of-starbound-songs-and-how-to-put-em-in.48081/

you put the new found .abc files into the folder assets/songs

incase you cant find your song on any of these websites you need to go down a different path
there is a tool with which you can convert .midi files into .abc files
you can find it here:

https://code.google.com/p/lotromidiplayer/

(it was originally made for lord of the rings online but works just fine in starbound)

so, now on the "LotRO MIDI Player" you click on file>open Midi file
you select your midi file and hit "ok"

now you can see all the different instrument tracks

you should try and reduce the amount of tracks there are to a bare minimum
with the song still intact and none of the actual melody lost

as soon as you're done tinkering around with it you save the file in your assets/songs folder
if the song is still cluttered and some tracks sound off-pitch you will need to remove even more tracks.. can be a pain sometimes..

if both of these methods don't work you can still try and write the .abc file yourself.
surely neither the best most efficient nor easiest way but that's your last resort (to my knowledge at least)

you need to restart the game in order for the files to appear in the song list

and now you can finally listen to some music :P
if you're clever with the LotRO MIDI player you should be able to export each audio track for each instrument individually
and give each of your friends the required instrument and file, this way you should technically be able to all play together in a band with the actual instruments!

I’m sure you'll figure it all out :)

good luck and have fun!
