This spell was created to address the soul trap problem when playing a mage type. To effectively gather souls a great deal of players are forced to rely on sniping with an enchanted Soul Trap bow. This is particularly true of unarmored mages, who have to avoid close distance battles, and fast switching between casting soul trap and offense while in battle can get lethal.
Presenting Starbolt, a long range spell whose projectile and explosion soul trap the things it kills. The spell does not use a "casting graphic" deliberately, to allow aiming through the first person HUD when dual casting. You will see the magic on the hands, but no central graphic.
The range is that of a Daedric bow, unaffected by gravity. Be careful, though the explosion has no scatter impact, the projectile has impact.
Statistics:
The high damage is due to the intent of the spell replacing archery for most purposes. Direct hits are usually lethal at lower levels, but enemies can still run from the area of impact and survive.
Now in two Versions:
Powerful - Like a smithed up daedric bow with sneak attack = 200 points total damage, will one shot most non boss monsters.
Balanced - Deadly if used right, but more suited to constant use. Damage = 80 points total.

Where to find the tome:
There is a Starbolt Tome lying next to Enthir's bed, probably one of his forbidden studies. Don't worry about taking it, he didn't actually get it legally either.
If that is lost, or accidentally lost before reading, another copy is available in Proudspire Manor, on the top floor table.
Compatibility:
Almost everything, I made it so unless Proudspire or Winterhold are heavily modified, it should work.

The books drop slightly, so new furnishings may cause them to be flung in a random direction.
No scripts, No Bsa, just an esp, so it should be safe for use. All vanilla assets, no special graphics.
