1. INTRODUCTION
===============
As egalitarian as the Legion is made out to be... there is a conspicuous lack of women in the Legion rank and file, unlike the Stormcloaks. You see a grand total of two women active in the Legion (Legate Rikke and the crazy legion officer who's all Red Queen at you).
So where da wimmen at?
This mod inserts some women NPC face templates into the ranks. It uses the FemaleNord (the heavily accented one, like Danica Pure-Spring, the priestess in the Whiterun Kynareth temple), the only voice type that seems to have Legion-specific dialog.
This also has the effect of introducing women into the ranks of the pro-Imperial towns' initial town guard (the two use the same leveled list that governs faces).
This also has a secondary feature of introducing some elven males into the Legion trooper ranks as well.
Lastly, this gives all Legionnaires some actual shields.

2. INSTALLATION
===============
Unpack the ESP module "Legionettes SE.esp" and its associated archive "Legionettes SE.bsa" into your \Data folder. Activate using your mod manager of choice.
It may take quite a while before you see any in the ranks, as your game needs to reset cells.
This mod will hopefully be the basis for a more expansive mod that will add some variety to the Legion ranks; Legion Decani/Centurions, Stormcloak Sergeants/Captains, Legion Battlemages, Stormcloak Bereskarns.

3. UNINSTALLATION

Just delete the ESP module "Legionettes SE.esp" and its associated archive "Legionettes SE.bsa" from your \Data folder.
WARNING : NPCs that were already generated by the mod will now be featured as bodies with no head, hands, feet, and will have no animations. THEY NEED TO DIE AND RESPAWN TO BE FIXED.

v1.0.1 (Feb 25, 2012):
Packed in head NIFs that I forgot to pack in. Re-situated how the Legionnaires get their shields so that the pro-imperial town guard shields don't get displaced in the process. Noted feature I forgot to mention (male elf legion troopers).
v1.0.2 (April 22, 2012):
Fixed the missing voice files for the Trooper legionettes. Guard legionettes unaffected. Packed in missing baked face textures as well.
v1.0.3 (March 28, 2014):
Fixed the scene where Irileth sends guards back to Riverwood. There apparently was no female guard dialog for that, so those three are fixed to only be male guards. It might be something that requires a new game. If it's stuck and breaks later MQ quests, post in the comments and I'll formulate a console command fix.

Fixed Riverwood guard-redeploy scene with Irileth (might be stuck in existing games) and now with correct filename.
